Founded by the Channell family in 1922, Channell is a global designer, manufacturer, and seller of outside plant infrastructure equipment. The markets served by Channell are Telecommunications, Municipalities, Internet Service Providers, Wireless, Water, Power, and CATV, among others. Major product lines include a complete line of thermoplastic and metal fabricated enclosures, fiber optic cable connection and management systems, and high-performance below-grade vaults.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Parts Room Coordinator is responsible for the organization and maintenance of the parts room and the tool room. This position assists the maintenance mechanics and technicians by providing them with the tools and parts necessary to complete their projects. Order and reorder parts to always ensure adequate supply levels. Verify items received against purchase orders. The Parts Room Coordinator will also be held responsible for maintaining inventory by ordering and stocking as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs and coordinates physical inventory count and compares to actual count in database
Is responsible for having all stock items listed and managed in database
Performs weekly cycle counts of maintenance parts to verify all are correct
Manage inventory data to ensure all parts relate to maintainable equipment
Performs and coordinates receiving and restocking items as necessary
Communicates with outside vendors to ensure all parts are ordered and delivered within the expected time
Works with Maintenance to ensure all parts are ready and staged for all scheduled work orders
Communicates daily with Purchasing and Finance to make sure all paperwork is being processed as expected
Works with shift team leaders to ensure all parts are issued on time and all paperwork is complete
responsible for keeping the tool room organized and fully stocked
Must be able to perform miscellaneous job–related duties as assigned
MUST BE ABLE TO FULLY LEARN AND UTILIZE E-MAINTENANCE SOFTWARE - using this system is the primary function of this position (issuing parts to techs, charging them out to work orders, etc.). Any prior knowledge or familiarity is a plus but not necessarily required as training will be provided
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Good mechanical skills, and use of hand/power tools
Good understanding of quality and safety practices
E-maintenance software
ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
