    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Role Overview</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Bayview Hospital is seeking a qualified medical practitioner who is registered with the Medical Council of Barbados to fill the full-time position of Resident Medical Officer (RMO). The successful candidate will be expected to continuously monitor and evaluate in hospital patients assisting with the management of surgical/medical patients and providing support to consultant physicians.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Make entries in the patient’s notes (electronic) as appropriate following ward rounds or any other patient examinations, communication or procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Facilitate in-house training sessions to both medical and non-medical staff members.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Demonstrate the ability to provide care and manage postoperative patients i.e dressing application, patient transfer and monitoring for immediate complications</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Assist physicians on the ward with review of patient, site IV access and provide care under the guidance of the Consulting Surgeon/ Specialist Physician.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Admit patients who are transferred into the ICU</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Take an active role in monitoring patients and respond to clinical parameters (e.g. blood pressure, respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen saturations and pain)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Clearly document all examinations and examination findings.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Administer injections for radiological investigations when required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Undertake emergency procedures as required (including resuscitation).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Attend meetings to discuss issues, incidents and accidents with the Risk Management Officer/ Nurse Manager</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Countersign any drug instructions given by consultants over the telephone and satisfy prescribing requirements throughout the hospital.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Communicate as often as necessary with the hospital’s Pharmacist in relation to the patient’s prescription and to adhere to the Formulary.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Work with the ICU Consultant in managing patients in ICU.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">ACLS &amp; BLS qualifications</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">PEARS (Optional)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">NALS (Optional)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">PALS (Optional but preferred)</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Medical Doctor with minimum of 3 years post graduation</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">ICU and/or Emergency care experience.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Excellent organizational and time-management skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Excellent Communication skills; oral and written</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to multi-task and perform well in stressful situations</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Please note that only suitably qualified applicants will be contacted to participate in the recruitment process. </span></em></p>\n<p><em><br></em></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Application Deadline: March 01, 2026</span></em></p>",
