Team & Culture Our dynamic Survey Team is seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to join us in executing a heavy civil construction project in the Fraser Valley area of British Columbia. The ideal candidate will possess the technical skills and training necessary to excel in this role and flexibility to accommodate the demands of shift work across multiple project sites. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting our construction team with earthworks, concrete structures, and pipeline installations. You will be responsible for meticulously recording field data, interpreting complex construction drawings, and performing precise field calculations for layout purposes. Building intricate templates from road alignments, demonstrating strong mathematical skills, and maintaining an exceptional attention to detail are essential aspects of this role. In your day-to-day activities, you will engage in field layout and calculations, conduct topographical surveys, operate GPS setups and third-party control networks, and utilize Total Station and GNSS survey equipment. Additionally, you will be tasked with establishing new control points in remote and challenging locations. A comprehensive understanding of Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment is indispensable for this position. Responsibilities Execute precise field layouts based on construction plans. Accurately layout complex structures. Conduct layout and as-built surveys for penstock water conveyance systems. Perform detailed topographical surveys. Utilize CAD software for quantity calculations. Conduct field calculations with precision. Establish control points in various work areas. Comprehend and implement site emergency response plans. Understand and apply site environmental response plans, including the use of spill kits and erosion control products. Adhere to all site safety regulations relevant to the assigned work. Work independently with confidence and reliability. Required Qualifications & Skills A minimum of 2 years of experience as a construction surveyor. In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment are mandatory. Completion of a 1–2 year Geomatics or Land Survey Technology diploma. Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's licence. Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the project site in Boston Bar, BC, to enable driving to site as required; work is 5 days per week with occasional weekend hours as needed. Ability to pass drug and alcohol pre-screening tests. Physical fitness to perform the demanding duties of the role. #indeedsj
