SubBase is an early-stage, venture-backed, rapidly growing construction tech startup dedicated to solving the complex problems of material management. Today, hundreds of billions of dollars of construction materials are ordered in the most disparate and analog way. Labor is scarce and proper workflow tools leveraging the best in class technology for both sides of the market are required to keep up with the pace and growth of the built world.
Our platform is built by real construction experts leveraging the latest technology to provide an intuitive, user-friendly experience that simplifies the entire process of managing construction materials. We aim to help both sides of the market increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve their bottom line by streamlining their material management workflow. We currently have both contractors and vendors using the platform procuring tens of millions of dollars in construction materials a month through the platform.

Position Summary
SubBase is looking to hire an energetic, proactive, and highly motivated individual to join full time as a founding member of the sales development team working directly alongside our Head of Sales. This role is for someone who wants to be part of an exciting start-up, solving complicated challenges that contractors struggle with everyday. As the first Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for building and managing a pipeline of specialty contractors as well as contributing to the efficiency of the sales process. Your role will be critical to the success and growth of the company. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate, driven, curious, hungry to learn, and wants to accelerate their career development in the crucible of a hyper growth startup. You will work closely with our marketing and sales teams to develop and execute goals/strategies that drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for reaching out to and qualifying new potential clients and working with the rest of the sales team to help guide a prospect from initial touch points to becoming a customer You will work directly with the Head of Sales to build and manage a pipeline of prospects as well as contribute to the efficiency of the sales process specifically around customer acquisition strategy, the qualification process, growth targets and other key initiatives Own a pipeline of specialty contractors and manage and qualify inbound leads via phone, email, and other media Attend in person industry events and trade shows to generate new leads and network with potential and existing customers. Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop sales collateral and campaigns. Implement processes and tools to improve conversion and streamline the customer acquisition process You'll have latitude to experiment and innovate to drive results and push the business forward Required Skills/Experience
Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years of relevant B2B SaaS sales experience Fast learner who can adapt to change quickly - this is a fast-paced, rapidly evolving (but fun!) work environment Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively Hustler with a competitive drive to hit and exceed goals Naturally creative with an excitement to try new things and surface ideas Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team Strong interpersonal and written communication skills A strong passion for technology and its potential to transform the construction industry
Nice to Haves
Knowledge of the construction industry and jargon Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce or similar CRMs and sales management tools Experience working in the construction technology space
