    "description": "<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-weight: bold\">The Opportunity</span></p>\n<p>The Ottawa Senators are seeking a hard-working, detail-oriented professional to join our Engineering team as a HVAC/ Refrigeration Operator. This is an excellent opportunity to join an NHL franchise which will allow the candidate to become fully engaged in the business of a major league sports team.     </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">HVAC/Refrigeration Operator</span> is responsible for the maintenance and operation of specialized equipment used on the premises of Canadian Tire Centre (CTC), as well as general repairs and maintenance of the facility.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Number of vacancies</span>: 1, this is a replacement role<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ongoing</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for the maintenance of specialized equipment, such as ice plant, heat pumps, generators, plumbing systems, air handling, and roof top units</li>\n<li>Operate and maintain air conditioning and heating systems, food service equipment, refrigeration and other mechanical equipment</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate records of all preventative maintenance work</li>\n<li>Develop and follow standard operating procedures, work schedules, record keeping and reporting systems</li>\n<li>Responsible for maintaining fire system and for ensuring emergency procedures are followed</li>\n<li>Make regular inspections of all machinery and equipment, prepare purchase requisitions for necessary materials, tools, and equipment</li>\n<li>Drives Zamboni to maintain CTC ice pad for Ottawa Senators’ practices and private rentals</li>\n<li>Assists with repairs and maintenance of CTC offices, eg. changing light bulbs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Health &amp; Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities </span></p>\n<p>Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health &amp; Safety Act (OHSA) are adhered to, specifically:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA regulations and internal policies and procedures</li>\n<li>Using or wearing protective equipment, devices or clothing when required</li>\n<li>Reporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member</li>\n<li>Reporting any contravention of the OHSA regulations or Senators Sports &amp; Entertainment policies and procedures</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-weight: bold\">Qualifications (what we look for)</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Class B refrigeration certification. Candidates who do not currently possess the certification must be willing to obtain it within two (2) years of employment.</li>\n<li>Other HVAC designations would also be considered an asset</li>\n<li>Minimum 1-year previous experience preferred as a building engineer/Operator</li>\n<li>High school or vocational school diploma in refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, heating, electrical, or automotive repairs</li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and schematics</li>\n<li>Knowledge of carpentry and masonry work is beneficial</li>\n<li>Must possess effective oral and written communication skills</li>\n<li>Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions</li>\n<li>Experience with Zamboni or other ice re-surfacing machine preferred</li>\n<li>Must be available for shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays</li>\n<li>Team player</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21)\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are</span> </span></p>\n<p>The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club is a professional sports organization competing in the National Hockey League (NHL) and representing Canada’s capital city.
