The Technician will provide full-time onsite contracted support to NSWCPD.<br><br><em>This position is associated with an upcoming contract that THOR is pursuing, with an expected start in early January 2026. We are conducting preliminary, &#8220;contingent&#8221; hiring for roles associated with this contract. The work start is dependent upon THOR being awarded this contract.</em><br><br><strong>Typical Responsibilities:</strong> May include (but are not limited to) the following actions:</p><ul><li>Provide DRS support in the development and updating of Propulsion, Power and Diesel Engines Systems technical and ILS documentation.</li><li>Technical and logistics documentation to be updated includes but is not limited to:<ul><li>Technical Manuals</li><li>Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS)</li><li>Depot Level Maintenance Standards (MS)</li><li>Technical Repair Standards (TRS)</li><li>Process Control Procedures</li><li>Class Standard Work Templates</li><li>PMS (MIPs &amp; MRCs)</li><li>EOSS</li><li>APLs.</li></ul></li><li>Provide the technical support necessary to incorporate changes to this documentation resulting from feedbacks, advisories, technical bulletins, Technical Warrant Holder (TWH) guidance, hardware configuration changes resulting from alteration installations, and other situations that arise which require the updating of technical and logistics support documentation.</li><li>Provide assistance with the development and tracking of DRS Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) for related Propulsion, Power and Diesel Engines Systems programs and projects</li></ul><br><strong>Location:</strong>&#160;Primarily onsite at THOR local office in San Diego, CA.<br><br><strong>Travel:</strong> Up to 25% travel anticipated, for 1-2 week durations, to CONUS and OCONUS locations including: Philadelphia, PA, Beloit, WI, Detroit, MI, Peoria, IL, Washington DC, Norfolk, VA, Mayport, FL, San Diego, CA, Everett, WA, Pearl Harbor, HI, Bahrain, Sasebo, Japan, Yokosuka, Japan, Singapore, and various Naval facilities and ship new construction yard facilities.<br><br><strong>Typical Physical Activity:</strong> Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches) or vision.<br><br><strong>Typical Pay Range:</strong> The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $36.72 - $43.20/hour. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.<br><br><strong>Eligibility for a SECRET Security Clearance is Required</strong>: This position requires eligibility for a Secret security clearance, to be obtained after hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.<br><br><strong>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:&#160;</strong><ul><li>High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.</li><li>At least ten (10) years of recent, relevant hands-on experience in the area of diesel propulsion and power generating systems.</li><li>Four (4) years of experience with US Navy diesel engine applications, specifically FM-Pielstick, FMOP, Caterpillar, MTU and/or Isotta Fraschini.</li><li>Three (3) years of experience supporting the US Navy DRS Program.
