Overview Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington. With a track record of global leadership in bone marrow transplantation, HIV/AIDS prevention, immunotherapy and COVID-19 vaccines, Fred Hutch has earned a reputation as one of the world’s leading cancer, infectious disease and biomedical research centers. Fred Hutch operates eight clinical care sites that provide medical oncology, infusion, radiation, proton therapy and related services, and network affiliations with hospitals in five states. The ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management of multiple service lines of adult hematology patients at Fred Hutch. They follow patients during their chemotherapy and provide medical supportive care, as well as surveillance after completion of treatment. The Float ARNP/PA-C may work on a variety of hematology teams, at any of the Fred Hutch campuses, to assess and manage basic health needs of patients, address treatment toxicities, perform procedures, monitor for cancer progression or recurrence, and consult with professional peers as needed. They work collaboratively with the treatment team to coordinate care of their patients. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician. Responsibilities Performs complex and problem-focused H & P’s Evaluates and manages on-treatment and post-treatment side effects, as well as long-term surveillance and survivorship issues. Performs procedures according to licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice Collaborates and consults with other disciplines and services to ensure safe, effective, and timely treatment as well as continuity of patient care. Participates in the conduct of cancer clinical research Provides patient, caregiver, and peer education Communicates effectively with inpatient and outpatient teams Participates in patient rounds, conferences and committees Other duties as assigned Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner training program awarding a Master’s degree. One (1) year of ARNP or PA-C experience in Medical Oncology or Hematology. Certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Licensed to practice in the state of Washington. DEA license upon credentialing/start. ACLS within 3 months of hire. Strong collaborator and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential. Strong oral and written skills. Electronic Medical Record experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years of ARNP or PA-C experience in Medical Oncology or Hematology. The annual base salary range for this position is from $126,984 to $200,678, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security. Benefits include medical/vision, dental, flexible spending accounts, life, disability, retirement, family life support, employee assistance program, onsite health clinic, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation (22 days if working 8 hours, 5 days per week or 18 days if working 10 hours, 4 days per week.), CME (5 days), paid sick leave, paid holidays (11 days per year), paid parental leave (up to 4 weeks).
