Greet and serve food to patrons. Provides excellent customer service.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p><p><br></p><p>• Provide excellent customer service</p><p><br></p><p>• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, to include coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, and tea</p><p><br></p><p>• Take accurate orders from customers and relay correct information to appropriate staff</p><p><br></p><p>• Operate espresso equipment</p><p><br></p><p>• Clean and sanitize work area, utensils espresso machine and other equipment</p><p><br></p><p>• Clean both indoor and outdoor seating areas</p><p><br></p><p>• Responsible for checking on food orders to ensure customer orders are filled in a timely manner</p><p><br></p><p>• Check temperature of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functioning</p><p><br></p><p>• Describe menu items to customers and recommend products that might appeal to them</p><p><br></p><p>• Post and update weekly drink and food specials</p><p><br></p><p>• Order, receive, or stock supplies and retail products</p><p><br></p><p>• Provide customer service with product details such as coffee blend and preparation descriptions</p><p><br></p><p>• Receive and process customer payments</p><p><br></p><p>• Serve prepared foods using appropriate sanitation methods</p><p><br></p><p>• Set up or restock product supply</p><p><br></p><p>• Maintain prepared food quality by dating, wrapping, and using first-in, first out method</p><p><br></p><p>• Stock customer-service stations with paper products, condiments and other appropriate supplies</p><p><br></p><p>• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays</p><p><br></p><p>• May prepare food items from the café menu</p><p><br></p><p>• Other duties as assigned</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE</p><p><br></p><p>• Knowledge of specialty coffee ingredients</p><p><br></p><p>• Experience using commercial espresso equipment</p><p><br></p><p>• Adherence to safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices</p><p><br></p><p>• Knowledge of food preparation and food service skills</p><p><br></p><p>• Good customer service skills to manage multiple orders in a busy retail atmosphere</p><p><br></p><p>• Ability to provide efficient and friendly service</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)</p><p><br></p><p>• Register and cash handling experience</p><p><br></p><p>• Point of sales (POS) experience</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)</p><p><br></p><p>• Two years’ experience in food-service industry</p><p><br></p><p>• Barista experience</p><p><br></p><p>• Experience working in fast-paced environment</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS</p><p><br></p><p>Requires long hours of standing and moving. Must be able to carry trays of food, dishes, and glassware weighing up to 25 pounds. Exposure to high temperatures, steam and equipment with very hot surfaces. Exposure to injuries from slips, cuts, and burns.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>CONDITIONS OF HIRE:</p><p><br></p><p>• All employment at Tlingit &amp; Haida is “at will”.
