Position Overview Are you a natural leader who thrives in hands-on environments and enjoys bringing complex mechanical systems to life? We’re looking for a Lead Mechanical Technician – Manufacturing & Installation to take charge of custom mechanical projects from concept to completion. In this role, you'll lead by example—working side-by-side with your team while coordinating efforts with engineers and project managers to build everything from electromechanical equipment and robotics to custom structures and workstations. You'll split your time between our shop and customer sites, tackling a wide variety of projects that keep things interesting and challenge your skills. This position requires strong mechanical expertise, a passion for quality work, and the flexibility to travel and put in extra hours when needed. If you’re someone who takes pride in mentoring others, solving problems on the fly, and delivering high-quality results in fast-paced, real-world settings, we’d love to have you leading the way. What You'll Do Perform and oversee assembly, troubleshooting, prototyping, and light fabrication in shop and field settings and lead projects as assigned Lead and oversee projects and teams Install structural steel, columns, supports, etc. Install a variety of conduit and pipe such as threaded, grooved, flanged, etc. Assist Project Managers and others in gathering information for quotes and bids Identify potential issues and opportunities for Change Orders and communicate with Project Managers and other Engineering personnel Interpret mechanical drawings and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products and red-line as necessary Assist with the oversight and scheduling of training and development of Mechanical Technicians Assist with scheduling personnel to meet project needs and enhance individual skillsets Working Conditions Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted Perform work on site in industrial, commercial, and residential locations What You'll Bring 8+ years’ experience in a role requiring industrial mechanical applications and installations preferred 2+ years’ experience in a leadership role overseeing both projects and small groups of people Valid driver’s license required Possess basic welding certifications and ability to pass a weld test Proficient with the selection and use of hand and power tools and equipment Experience with providing quality customer service How We'll Support You WE ARE NOW EMPLOYEE OWNED Employees are beneficial owners through an ESOP (Employee Stock Option Plan) that works through a qualified retirement plan.
