    "description": "<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 128); font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold\">Position Hours</span></p>\n<p><span>8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 128); font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold\">Minimum Job Duties</span></p>\n<p>Performs responsible skilled work in a variety of utility line construction, repair and maintenance assignments involving the use of common tools and frequently operates equipment in connection with the semiskilled tasks to which assigned.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Installing, repairing and maintaining water/sewer lines, meters and related facilities; making line taps</li>\n<li>Performs water and sewer line maintenance, repair, installation and replacement tasks</li>\n<li>Installs, replaces and repairs water and sewer lines, taps, hydrants, valves and meters</li>\n<li>Assists crew supervisor in assigning work and may perform supervisory duties in their absence</li>\n<li>Acts as a lead worker on a small crew of semi-skilled workers</li>\n<li>Raises and lowers manholes and valve boxes; taps high-pressure lines</li>\n<li>Connects water and sewer pipes to mains and service connections</li>\n<li>Helps determine cause of leaking water meters</li>\n<li>Repairs water meters; installs water meters; repairs leaking water and sewer lines</li>\n<li>Cleans up work site after job has been completed</li>\n<li>Changes out water meters; makes taps on lines</li>\n<li>Responds to sewer and water line problems</li>\n<li>Prepares and maintains equipment and vehicles</li>\n<li>Operates tap machine, dewatering pump, dump truck, utility truck, boring machine, jackhammer and related light and medium equipment</li>\n<li>Is required to work overtime and/or be on call</li>\n<li>Implements/administers special programs as assigned which relate to the operational activities of the utility system (e.g. safety program coordinator, lead/copper rule compliance, etc.)</li>\n<li>Performs related tasks as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080; font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold\">Minimum Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School Diploma or GED</li>\n<li>Possess and maintain at least a “D” level operator license in Water Distribution and/or Water Treatment as issued by the state of South Carolina Environmental Certification Board <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">AND</span></li>\n<li>Possess and maintain at least a “D” level operator license in Wastewater Collections as issued by the Water Environment Association of South Carolina</li>\n<li>Possession of an appropriate drivers’ license valid in the State of South Carolina</li>\n<li>Considerable experience as a worker in the maintenance, repair and/or construction of utility systems to include a minimum of two years direct experience in the water/wastewater utility field<br></li>\n<li>Must have knowledge and thorough understanding of booster pump station operation, lift station operation, pump controls, SCADA system, basic RTU components, chemical feed systems, and hydraulic gradients.</li>\n<li>Must have knowledge and understanding of appropriate safety procedures and be able to respond in emergency situations</li>\n<li>Knowledge of the maintenance, repair and manual tasks of the area to which assigned</li>\n<li>Knowledge of the safe use and operation and preventive maintenance of the common hand and power tools required in the work</li>\n<li>Knowledge of the safe use, operation and preventive maintenance of the equipment to which assigned</li>\n<li>Skill in the use of the equipment to which assigned</li>\n<li>Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions</li>\n<li>Ability to read, write, and complete mathematical equations</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080; font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold\">Compensation &amp; Benefits Package</span></p>\n<p>Salary Commensurate with Education &amp; Experience</p>\n<p>Paid Time Off</p>\n<p>Holiday Pay</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #000080; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Insurances</span></span> </span></p>\n<p>Health</p>\n<p>Dental</p>\n<p>Vision</p>\n<p>Health Savings Account</p>\n<p>Flex Spending Accounts</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #000080; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Retirement Plans</span></span></p>\n<p>SC Retirement System (mandatory)</p>\n<p>401(k) Plans (voluntary)</p>\n<p>457(b) Plans (voluntary)</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #000080; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Other Insurances</span></span></p>\n<p>Life</p>\n<p>Disability</p>\n<p>Other (accident, cancer, critical illness, etc.)</p>",
