This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in forklift maintenance and a willingness to learn. The Shop Technician Apprentice will undergo on-the-job training to acquire the skills necessary to perform routine maintenance tasks and assist in the repair of forklifts and related equipment.</p>\n<p><br>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>1. Training and Development:<br> Undergo hands-on training in forklift maintenance, including routine tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.<br> Learn to troubleshoot and diagnose basic mechanical and electrical issues in forklifts.<br> Receive instruction on conducting regular inspections to identify and address minor problems.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>2. Assistance in Maintenance and Repairs:<br> Assist experienced technicians in the repair of hydraulic systems, brakes, transmissions, and other basic components.<br> Work alongside senior technicians to prioritize and complete repairs in a timely manner.<br> Gain practical experience in maintaining an inventory of replacement parts and supplies.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>3. Record Keeping:<br> Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.<br> Document the details of training sessions and progress made in acquiring technical skills.</p>\n<p><br>4. Safety Compliance:<br> Learn and adhere to safety standards and regulations in all maintenance and repair activities.<br> Follow established safety protocols and guidelines while working in the workshop or at client sites.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>5. Cross Department Assistance:<br> Will support the Parts Department with tasks such as running parts to field technicians, transferring parts from 3 rd party vendors to shop or techs in the field, and assisting with inventory as needed from Parts Team.<br> Will support the Sales Department with tasks such as Pre Delivery Inspections on new / used equipment, “Make Ready” on units being sent out, and locating units in inventory for sales staff as needed.</p>\n<p> Will support the Rental Department by assisting in getting rental units checked in, checked out as needed. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p>\n<p><br>1. Education:<br> High school diploma or equivalent.</p>\n<p><br>2. Skills:<br> Basic understanding of mechanical systems.<br> Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.<br> Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.<br> Physical fitness and agility to handle the demands of the job.</p>\n<p><br>3. Communication:<br> Good communication and interpersonal skills.<br> Ability to work collaboratively with team members.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Training and Development Opportunities:<br>1. On-the-job training in forklift maintenance.<br>2. Participation in relevant workshops or training programs.<br>3. Mentorship from experienced Forklift Technicians.</p>\n<p><br>Career Path:<br>The Shop Technician Apprentice position is designed as an entry-level role with a clear pathway for<br>career growth within the maintenance team.
