Mulilo is majority owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), with Norfund holding an additional investment through the Norwegian Climate Investment Fund.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Mulilo develops, constructs and operates utility scale wind, solar PV and battery energy storage projects across South Africa. The company currently operates 450 MW of wind and solar capacity, with a further 765 MW under construction. Grounded in its values, Mulilo fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration and purpose, while remaining committed to its environmental, social and governance responsibilities.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About this role</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The HSSE Manager forms part of the EPC management team, reporting to the Chief EPC Officer and will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, security, and environmental compliance of our renewable energy projects in South Africa. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in HSSE management within the industry.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duties and responsibilities</span> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, implement, and continuously improve the HSSE strategy for renewable energy projects.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with project teams to integrate HSSE considerations into project planning and execution.</li>\n<li>Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental regulations and standards in South Africa.</li>\n<li>Work closely with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.</li>\n<li>Conduct regular risk assessments for project sites and implement effective risk mitigation measures.</li>\n<li>Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.</li>\n<li>Develop HSSE specifications for tender and review contractor and supplier safety documentation.</li>\n<li>Ensure that the HSSE team is recruited and mobilized in time.</li>\n<li>Design and deliver HSSE training programs for project staff and contractors.</li>\n<li>Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all levels of the organization.</li>\n<li>Lead investigations into HSSE incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.</li>\n<li>Prepare and submit comprehensive incident reports to management and relevant authorities.</li>\n<li>Establish and implement HSSE monitoring and auditing programs to assess compliance and effectiveness.</li>\n<li>Regularly review and update HSSE policies and procedures based on audit findings and industry best practices.</li>\n<li>Prepare and present reports for various levels in the organisation.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with the COO or operations team on corporate standards and provide advisory to other phases of the projects and organisation if required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required skills and education background. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.</li>\n<li>Proven experience in HSSE management within the renewable energy industry or project environment.</li>\n<li>At least 5 years in management position and demonstrated track record of leading teams.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of South African HSSE regulations and standards.</li>\n<li>Professional certifications in HSSE (e.g., SACPCMP, NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, ISO 45001)</li>\n<li>Auditing qualifications will be seen as an advantage.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Desirable attributes</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In general, the ideal candidate would have a passion for the Renewable Energy sector and personality traits would include a high level of diligence, determination, resilience, and agility.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In particular, the candidate would have a strong drive for seeing initiatives through with meticulous attention to detail ensuring reporting standards, unwavering ethical standards and excellent communication skills</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Mulilo is an employer of choice and is offering an extremely competitive total remuneration package for this position.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Additional Information </span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Able to work overtime according to operational needs.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The position is based at the offices of the company, but travel will be required occasionally.</p>",
