    "requisitionDescription": "<p id=\"isPasted\">POSITION DESCRIPTION</p><p>TITLE: Activity Leader</p><p>DEPARTMENT: Programs</p><p>PERFORMANCE PROFILE SOURCE: Youth Development</p><p>REPORTS TO: Program Director/Site Coordinator</p><p>FSLA CLASSIFICATION: Non- Exempt</p><p>PRIMARY FUNCTION:</p><p>Plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area such as Education, Social Emotional Learning, Virtual Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts &amp; Crafts, Physical Education, Safety, Sanitation and STEAM. Utilize and actively engage in Workplace.</p><p>KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):</p><p>Prepare Youth for Success:</p><p>&bull;Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth DevelopmentOutcomes.</p><p>&bull;Understand and Implement Knowledge Library resources and its functions.Promote and stimulate program participation</p><p>&bull;Assist in recruiting new members</p><p>&bull;Engage students</p><p>&bull;Provide guidance and role modeling to members</p><p>Ensure a productive work environment:</p><p>&bull;Participate in weekly After School Program staff meetings</p><p>&bull;Attend all site meetings</p><p>&bull;Complete Child Protective Services and Mandated Reportingdocuments</p><p>&bull;Read, sign, and abide by monthly safety topics</p><p>&bull;Monitor and evaluate programs, environment, services, and activities by activelyengaging to ensure safety of staff and members</p><p>&bull;Assess programs and the appearance of all areas of the After School Program</p><p>OF KERN COUNTY</p><p>Program Development and Implementation:</p><p>&bull;Plan, create, teach, implement, and administer programs, services, andactivities for members and visitors</p><p>&bull;Create and submit lesson plans and/or scheduled activitiesto immediate supervisor as required</p><p>&bull;Read and write without assistance</p><p>&bull;Implement daily lesson plans and scheduled activities</p><p>&bull;Apply BGCKC Youth Development Strategy</p><p>&bull;Provide classroom management</p><p>&bull;Implement and teach transition strategies</p><p>&bull;Provide BGCKC and District positive redirection strategies</p><p>&bull;Utilize District curriculum</p><p>&bull;Prepare and submit periodic reports as directed</p><p>&bull;Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety ofmembers, quality in programs, and appearance of the After School Program at alltimes</p><p>&bull;Monitor and review ADP on a weekly basis to review, read, and signdocuments as provided</p><p>&bull;Follow all BGCKC and individual school district policies and procedures</p><p>&bull;Ability to supervise a minimum of 20 children in a safe environment independently.</p><p>Key Roles &amp; Responsibilities</p><p>&bull;Commitment to Safety</p><p>&bull;Contribute to environment of safety through the learning and implementation andmonitoring of all safety-related best practices, policies, and procedures.</p><p>&bull;Promote accountability to safety through consistent observation, adherence to allsafety rules and practices and proactive communication among members, parents,peers, and leadership.</p><p>&bull;Obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter training and complete annual Child AbusePrevention training.</p><p>&bull;Complete training and participate in all Emergency Preparedness protocols includingdrills and communication practices.</p><p>ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p>1.Participate in special programs and/or events</p><p>2.Utilize customer service model - LEARN Model - to help resolve issues regarding clientsand stakeholders</p><p>3.Oversee special programs and/or events (e.g. Lights on After School, Parent Night,Back to School night), and/or participate in the implementation of other unit activitiesas necessary</p><p>4.Assume other duties as assigned</p><p>RELATIONSHIPS:</p><p>Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions, instruct, and advise/counsel. Adhere to BGCKC Code of Conduct at all times</p><p>External: Maintain contact with schools, members&#39; parents, and others to assist in publicizing the After School Program and resolving problems with Club managers</p><p>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:</p><p>&bull;Must be 18 years of age or older&bull;Must have proof of High School graduation or GED (Diploma or Transcripts)&bull;Must provide Negative TB test results or Assessment test completed within the last 4 years&bull;Must have at least 48 semester college units/68 quarter units or have a paraprofessionalcertification&bull;Must have CPR/First Aid/AED Certification&bull;Ability to read, write, spell, understand, and assist with math calculations/problems andassist with homework at all grade levels&bull;Experience in working with children&bull;Knowledge of youth development&bull;Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems&bull;Ability to effectively interact with the public&bull;Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth&bull;Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment</p><p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Activity Leader position.
