You will work together with the project management team and field supervision to ensure that all work is completed in a safe manner to avoid risk of injury or harm.</p><p><b>Project Safety Professionals at Harder perform the following daily tasks:</b></p><ul><li>Provide support in incident prevention, including inspecting job site, equipment, onsite training, investigating, and authoring incident reports, and providing information on safety standards and work techniques</li><li>Serves as the on-site Competent Person who performs frequent and regular inspections of the job site, materials, and equipment</li><li>Oversee new hire safety training program </li><li>Oversees additional safety professionals assigned to the project</li><li>Surveys the jobsite and provides advice and guidance to site superintendents and site employees engaged in a full range of construction activities including but not limited to confined space, hazardous energy control, fall protection and scaffolding</li><li>Investigates all incidents to determine origin, root cause, and contributing factors and assists in the preparation of written evaluation reports concerning findings</li><li>Carries out safety education activities, promoting safety awareness, conducting daily and weekly Toolbox Talks; providing site specific training courses</li><li>Consults with technical specialists and program managers about changes in work processes and proposed methods to eliminate unnecessary risks and control hazardous conditions</li><li>Provides employees and managers the training necessary to recognize hazards and perform their jobs safely and effectively</li><li>Develops Activity (Job) Hazard Analysis’s for all new major work processes or those processes that have the highest injury/illness rates</li><li>Conducts Personal Protective Equipment assessments as needed</li><li>Recommends appropriate measures and methods to correct safety deficiencies noted; Investigates hazardous conditions, practices, equipment, etc., to identify and analyze the nature and severity of hazards and the possible remedial actions (elimination, correction, or protection)</li></ul><p><b>What you will need to be successful in this role:</b></p><ul><li>Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint</li><li>Possess professional qualifications and knowledge of fall protections systems, electrical safety, permit-required confined spaces, excavation trenching and shoring, scaffolding, hazard communication, accident investigation and reporting</li></ul><p><b>Education/Experience:</b></p><ul><li>3-5 years of experience</li><li>OSHA 30-hour certification</li><li>OSHA 10-hour certification</li><li>OSHA 500 certification (must be current)</li><li>OSHA 510 certification</li><li>First Aid / CPR / AED (must be current)</li><li>Extensive knowledge of the State/Local, OSHA laws and regulations</li><li>May be required to pass security clearance investigation and applicable substance testing requirements</li><li>Additional safety certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OHST are encouraged </li></ul><p><b>Benefits</b></p><ul><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits – 100% of employee premiums are paid by the company</li><li>Generous retirement package includes: 10% retirement contribution made by the company and a company match up to 2% of your annual salary</li><li>Profit sharing</li><li>Discretionary annual bonus</li><li>Paid vacation and holidays</li><li>Harder University training and development, as well as other paid professional development opportunities</li><li>Team environment that promotes individual growth</li></ul><p>HMC reserves the right to perform a drug screening and background check, as may be required, and this offer may be contingent on passing a drug screening and background check. </p><p><strong><em>No recruiters.
