Fortinet is growing and we are looking to hire Principal Software Developer to join our team.</p><p>The Global Advanced Field Training Solution Architect is a highly knowledgeable and skilled professional who will be responsible for:</p><ul><li>The development of advanced content material with an emphasison security, networking, connectivity (wired and wireless) and cloud solutions.&nbsp;</li><li>The design and delivery of advanced training workshops based on the latest technologies and firmware available.&nbsp;</li><li>The design and deployment of virtual and physical infrastructures to provide hands-on labs for the higher levels of the Fortinet Network Security Expert training and certification program.</li><li>The update of all the environments deployed for hands-on labs of the higher levels of the Fortinet Network Security Expert training and certification program.</li><li>The design and deployment of the Fortinet Certified Expert (FCX) practical exam.</li><li>The alpha and beta tests of the deployed infrastructures mentioned above.</li><li>The appropriate documentation of all the material and environments designed and deployed for hands-on labs and content development.</li><li>The adaptation of any current Fortinet Network Security Expert content to deliver it to internal events, but not limited to SE Summits, Xperts Academy, Accelerate and special focused training events.</li><li>The coordination and proctoring of special sessions destined to design, update and build advanced training programs such as Fortinet Certified Expert (FCX).</li><li>The collaboration with highly skilled subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, update and build advanced training programs such as Fortinet Certified Expert (FCX).</li><li>Keeping the adequate and efficient relationship, communication, collaboration, and integration, with key stakeholders within Fortinet that can support and require the value added that the Advanced Field Training team might add to their objectives and business.</li><li>Keeping constant, fluid, timely and relevant communication, both verbally and written with all the groups which this team must interact with during regular job duties.&nbsp;</li><li>The interface with the Fortinet departments: training, sales, product management, professional services, TAC, development, CSE, management and any other organizations that should require interaction during the regular job duties.</li><li>The participation in advanced subjects engineering communities (Fuse, Private Communities, Tech Teams, Mailing lists, Partner Forums) and assist others to help make Fortinet a more successful company.</li><li>Keeping technology, industry, competitors, and Fortinet product and solutions knowledge at highest possible, and be an advanced expert resource for other peers.</li><li>The collaboration work with peers within the technical enablement, course development, training and certification groups.</li></ul><p><strong>Job Experience and abilities required:</strong></p><ul><li>Advanced technical knowledge of computer networks and Internet security.</li><li>Advanced technical knowledge of networking and security protocols.</li><li>At least 10 years’ of professional experience on design, installation and/or operation/support of network security solutions, including but not limited to the following: Next Generation Firewalls, VPNs, IPS, Antivirus, Web Content Filtering, AntiSpam, Vulnerability Managers, Database Security, VoIP Security, Cloud security, security operations.</li><li>At least three (3) years of knowledge of Fortinet company operation: processes, tools, organization, structure, etc.</li><li>At least ten (10) years of knowledge of Fortinet solutions, technology, and products (including chassis, carriers, and data center solutions).</li><li>At least five (5) years of experience with virtualization technologies and products from vendors like VMware, Oracle, Cisco, etc.</li><li>At least three (3) years of experience and advanced knowledge in private cloud environments (Microsoft, VMware NSX, OpenStack) and how to secure them.&nbsp;</li><li>At least three (3) years of experience and advanced knowledge in public cloud environments (Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Oracle) and how to secure them.&nbsp;</li><li>At least three (3) years of experience in technical training or course development is a plus.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of all the operating systems available, based on Windows, Linux, Unix, and its variants.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of authentication systems, platforms, and solutions.</li><li>Experience and advanced knowledge designing and operating secured wireless networking.</li><li>Advanced understanding of Database solutions and Database security systems.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of VoIP solutions and VoIP security systems.</li><li>Knowledge of python scripting is a major plus.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of Fortinet competitors or have been employed with Fortinet competitors is a plus.</li><li>At least four (4) years of experience as a senior consulting security engineer (SCSE) or senior system engineer (SSE) with deep knowledge of the sales and product integration including sales meetings, proofs-of-concept, technical training, product sizing, advanced solution design and support interaction.</li><li>Previous experience (at least three (3) years’) working with end users and technical partners (from Fortinet or its competitors).</li><li>Strong technical writing and visual media skills.</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Exceptional ability to articulate messages in English.</li><li>Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Japanese, Chinese or any other foreign language is a major plus.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of international business and markets.</li><li>Strong analytical skills, oriented to details.</li><li>Ability to be an autodidact and learn new knowledge areas on his/her own.</li><li>Proven track as a problem solver and negotiation skills.</li><li>Highly organized. Capable of working and multi-tasking across multiple projects.</li><li>Strong ability to talk to either the technical or management level.</li><li>Self-motivated, with the ability to work without direct supervision.</li><li>Adaptable and flexible, operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</li><li>Ability to work and take quick decisions under high pressure.&nbsp;</li><li>Availability to travel worldwide 60% or more of the time.</li><li>Availability to travel on short notice.</li><li>Demonstrated experience working in distributed and international teams.</li></ul><p><strong>Certifications and qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Be Fortinet Certified Expert (FCX) certified (valid and obtained at least one (1) year before the application to this position).
