    "description": "<p><span>The School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) supports students in developing the skills necessary for academic success and participation in the school environment. This role focuses on improving fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional skills to help students access their educational program.<br> <br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duties/ Responsibilities:</span><br><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)<br><br></li>\n<li>Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students’ functional needs<br><br></li>\n<li>Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals<br><br></li>\n<li>Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, behavior teams, and related service providers<br><br></li>\n<li>Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress reporting<br><br></li>\n<li>Provide consultation and training to school staff on strategies to support student success<br><br></li>\n<li>Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including service logs and progress reports<br><br></li>\n<li>Support students with sensory regulation, fine motor skills, handwriting, and daily living skills<br><br></li>\n<li>Adapt classroom materials and environments to meet student needs<br><br></li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Skills/Abilities: </span><br><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to move, lift, and position students as needed<br><br></li>\n<li>Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods<br><br></li>\n<li>Fine motor skills for documentation and therapy activities<br><br></li>\n<li>Experience with sensory integration techniques<br><br></li>\n<li>Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment<br><br></li>\n<li>Ability to manage caseloads and prioritize tasks effectively<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education/Experience &amp; Other Requirements</span><br><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist<br><br></li>\n<li>Experience working in a school or pediatric setting (preferred)<br><br></li>\n<li>Knowledge of special education laws, including Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)<br><br></li>\n<li>Strong communication and collaboration skills<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working Environment: </span><br><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>School-based settings (elementary, middle, or high school)<br><br></li>\n<li>May require travel between school sites within the Paramount School District<br><br></li>\n<li>Collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment</li>\n</ul>",
