They provide specialized holistic assessment and management as an inter-professional team member and participate in professional development, research activities, knowledge translation, and system-level thinking. They provide counselling and education for patients, both independently and in collaboration with the health care team. In consultation with physicians, community counterparts and other health care professionals, they use best practice and guidelines developed by Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Canada (NSWOCC) to ensure patients are accessing appropriate care to achieve the desired outcomes. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Five (5) full time years of experience as a Registered Nurse Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Other Education and Training Graduate of Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Management programs Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Certification as a wound care clinician from an accredited program Competencies Advanced - Interpersonal skills Advanced - Communication skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to lead/encourage/advise/collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals Knowledge in communication strategy, methods and tools Ability to teach patients/families about areas essential to health & well-being Integrates evidence based best practice as standard performance in portfolio Ability to evaluate data to problem-solve and lead to quality improvement Ability and flexibility in adapting to changing situations and environments Other Information For more information on the city of Saskatoon please visit https://www.saskatoon.ca/ Experience in program development, delivery and evaluation an asset Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) Valid Class 5 driver's license Travel to different acute care facilities within Saskatoon may be required Experince in developing wound, ostomy, continence programs/tools is an asset Organization Applicants must upload all relevant documents (ex: certificates, diplomas, proof of enrollment, licenses and/or memberships) relating to the qualifications of the position.
