font-weight: bold\">The Role:</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">We are looking for a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Platform Engineer</span> to join our Technical Operations team in Dublin, reporting to the Platform Engineering Manager.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Platform Engineers at Smartbox are responsible for keeping all user-facing and production systems running smoothly 24/7/365, constantly looking to improve workflows and processes to deliver best-in-class experiences to our customers and internal stakeholders.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">In this role, you will participate in our on-call rotation, partner with development teams to improve their services and processes, and help maintain and advance our technology stack.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS using Terraform, including development of reusable modules.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Operate and enhance production Kubernetes clusters using Helm, Karpenter, ArgoCD, and AWS EKS.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Implement and maintain GitOps-driven CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Improve platform reliability through proactive monitoring, alerting, and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, CheckMK, and internal tools.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Automate operational processes using Bash, Python, Go, and Rust.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Troubleshoot production incidents across infrastructure, networking, containers, and application layers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Support and optimise large-scale, database-driven systems (MySQL required; PostgreSQL a plus).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Contribute to capacity planning, scaling strategies, and performance optimisation initiatives.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Drive operational excellence improvements and incident reduction initiatives.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Manage and optimise centralised logging using Elasticsearch, Filebeat, rsyslog, and Kibana.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Maintain documentation and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Collaborate with development teams on tools development, service improvements, and change management activities.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Skills &amp; Experience:</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Essential:</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">3+ years of experience in technical support, systems administration, or platform/infrastructure engineering.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Proficiency in LAMP/LNMP environments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience with modern CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or equivalent).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Strong Linux systems knowledge and troubleshooting capability.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, load balancing, TLS, caching).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience with cloud automation on AWS and Terraform.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience with Elasticsearch and log management.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience administering MySQL databases.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;
