Benefits may vary based on state law.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Job Overview</h2>\n<p>We currently have an opening for a per diem Surgical Technologist to join our Portland, OR team. Provides quality individualized patient care based on the application of scientific knowledge, surgical technologist education and interpersonal skills. Care is provided primarily during the intraoperative phase and also includes preoperative and postoperative phases of the patient's surgical experience.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Competency to create and maintain a sterile field, providing equipment and supplies, performing sponge, sharps and instruments counts.</li>\n <li>Providing visualization of operative site.</li>\n <li>Independently pulls cases utilizing preference sheets and OR special equipment lists.</li>\n <li>Updates, reviews lists making changes as necessary. Reviews cases, and equipment prior to start of case.</li>\n <li>Is scrubbed in and has equipment prior to patient arriving into the OR suite</li>\n <li>Verifying efficacy of equipment, operating, maintaining, verifying, and recording efficacy of equipment</li>\n <li>Determines and documents efficacy of equipment. Records reflect accurate description of operations, sterilization, and use of equipment</li>\n <li>Familiar with proper assembly, operation, and disassembly of all OR equipment and attends in-service on new equipment</li>\n <li>Attends in-service on new equipment, completes competency evaluation successful in operation and maintaining equipment used within the department</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This is not an all inclusive list of this job's responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate in Surgical Technology</li>\n <li>Surgical Technologist certification (CST)</li>\n <li>Basic Life Support by start date (BLS, through American Heart Association only)</li>\n <li>1 year experience as OR scrub</li>\n</ul>",
