    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Trade Journeyperson Mechanic</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About Emil Anderson Maintenance</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>Emil Anderson Maintenance (EAM) is the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MoTT) highway and bridge maintenance contractor for three service areas in British Columbia: Service Area 7 (Fraser Valley), Service Area 20 (Robson), and Service Area 26 (Skeena).</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>For decades, EAM has delivered reliable road and bridge maintenance across urban and rural corridors. Our teams perform the full scope of highway maintenance activities, including vegetation control, drainage, sign and pavement repairs, concrete and wood bridge repair, gravel surface grading, anti‑icing, snow plowing, and incident and emergency response. Local candidates preferred.</p>\n<p>As a Trade Journeyperson Mechanic with Emil Anderson Maintenance (EAM), you’ll keep our winter and summer fleets mission‑ready by diagnosing and repairing trucks and heavy equipment, performing preventative maintenance, completing inspections and documentation, and supporting apprentices—all while upholding strict safety standards to keep our highway operations running smoothly.</p>\n<p>Although we are a union‑affiliated organization, being an active member is not a prerequisite.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Your Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear.</li>\n<li>Perform service repairs and preventative maintenance.</li>\n<li>Replace and/or repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.</li>\n<li>Operate transportation equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction.</li>\n<li>Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate reports.</li>\n<li>Perform other tasks as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Your Qualifications &amp; Skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid BC Class 3 driver’s licence with Air Brake endorsement and a clean abstract.</li>\n<li>Experience as a Service Technician or with heavy equipment; Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician or equivalent experience (asset).</li>\n<li>Completion of a registered apprenticeship (preferred) or equivalent training and experience to the full apprenticeship term.</li>\n<li>Comfortable working outdoors around heavy machinery; physically fit for labour‑intensive tasks, including lifting.</li>\n<li>Able to safely operate hand and power tools; mentally alert and safety‑focused with a commitment to safe work practices.</li>\n<li>Clear, professional communicator and strong team player with a positive attitude.</li>\n<li>Proven problem‑solving skills and willingness to mentor/support apprentices.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We Offer</span></p>\n<p>The chance to be part of essential roadway operations that keep communities across British Columbia safe and moving, while building your career with a company that’s been trusted for over 85 years.
