We recently completed a multi-phase hospital expansion that includes new inpatient rooms, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. Additionally, Nemours Children’s Health allows us to reach more children across the region through community-based physician services and collaborative partnerships with health and hospital systems.<br><br>Provides speech-language pathology patient examination, evaluation, intervention, documentation, parent/caregiver education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate within the guidelines designated by the department and the Delaware Valley policies and procedures. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Based on programmatic need and licensure requirements may be required to provide inpatient/outpatient coverage at various locations associated with Nemours.</li><li>Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, and adults.&nbsp;Demonstrates proficiency in the care of neonates as required by assignment.</li><li>Able to provide speech-language pathology services to a variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed.</li><li>Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3, Joint Commission, and CARF standards.&nbsp;</li><li>Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member.</li><li>Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment, home/school modifications and transitional therapy program prior to discharge from therapy.</li><li>Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to therapy services.</li><li>Completes all mandatory training which may include, but is not limited to safety, infection control, corporate compliance, HIPAA, bioterrorism, CPR and program specific respiratory training.</li><li>Participates in triage and coverage planning as necessary to meet patient care and departmental needs.</li><li>Team Work:&nbsp; Participates in conflict identification and resolution.&nbsp; Works cooperatively on multidisciplinary, single discipline, program specific and specialty teams.&nbsp; Assists in maintenance of department space and equipment.</li><li>When required by assignment, participates in weekend/holiday inpatient coverage rotation, including checking the code blue cart per guideline #7980.GL.24.</li></ul><p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or its equivalent from an ASHA-accredited university required.</li><li>Minimum of 3-6 months experience required. &nbsp;New graduates will be considered based on educational experiences.</li><li>State of New Jersey Speech-Language Pathology License&nbsp;or provisional/temporary license&nbsp;required upon hire.</li><li>Must obtain State of Delaware Speech-Language Pathology License. &nbsp;Must submit license or proof of application submission within 2 weeks of job acceptance, but this second license is not required to be active at the start of employment. &nbsp;All clinical staff will maintain dual licensure.</li><li>AHA BLS Certification required within 6 months of hire date and must be maintained for the duration of employment.</li><li>ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), or Clinical fellowship Year (CFY) in-process with goal of achieving CCC-SLP within 10-12 months required. &nbsp;</li><li>Pennsylvania clearances are required upon hire for those with a Pennsylvania license.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Member of professional specialty organizations (ASHA, State Speech and Hearing Assoc.) preferred. &nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Clinical affiliation and/or work experience in pediatrics preferred.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;Nemours Children's Health offers a comprehensive and competitive benefit package which includes:</strong></p><ul><li>Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement/Continuing Education Support</li><li>403(b) Retirement Plan</li><li>Paid Time Off (PTO), VTO (Volunteer Time Off) and 6 paid holidays</li><li>Professional/Clinical growth opportunities</li><li>Work Life Benefits</li></ul><p>#LI-EP1</p>",
