    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Under the direction the Y Kids Coordinator and consistent with the mission of the YMCA, the <strong>Y Kids Associate</strong> is responsible for assisting with developing and coordinating quality programs for children, while ensuring standards of health and safety are met.   </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>This job announcement is not intended to be inclusive of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, however, representative of the essential job functions and typical criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the position.</em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Coordinate educational, age-appropriate activities for children in the Y Kids Area</li>\n <li>Maintain health and safety standards of the Y Kids Area</li>\n <li>Provide superior customer service to members and their children </li>\n <li>Implement assigned programming for staff children  </li>\n <li>Maintain accurate records relating to attendance, check in and first aid </li>\n <li>Provide care and supervision of children in the Y Kids Area with emphasis on overall safety and wellness </li>\n <li>Maintain Quality Assurance by ensuring cleanliness of toys and room and order throughout the Y Kids Area</li>\n <li>Provide positive daily interaction with members and children (greet each child/parent as they enter and leave) </li>\n <li>Communicate appropriately with other staff members in a positive manner </li>\n <li>Attend staff meetings and training events </li>\n <li>All YMCA staff are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive environment. This includes following all YMCA policies and procedures related to abuse prevention, reporting concerns or incidents immediately, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with youth and members</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent, as well as prior experience working with children or in a related field </li>\n <li>Ability to work well with children of various ages and abilities </li>\n <li>Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills </li>\n <li>Ability to handle multiple tasks </li>\n <li>Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule </li>\n <li>Capable of working as a team player </li>\n <li>Ability to maintain safe environment </li>\n <li>Certification in First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens and CPR-PR within 60 days of employment </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program</li>\n <li>Retirement Contribution</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>OUR YMCA CULTURE:</strong></p>\n<p>Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture.
