This is a field position that requires out of town assignments that may include working 6-7 days per week. This includes having to stay in hotels for extended periods. All travel expenses are covered for out of town assignment.
Responsibilities
Monitor and document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners.
Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.
Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
Well field monitoring/tuning.
Monitor a variety of elements including explosive gas, surface emission, liquid level, LFG flare, etc.
Groundwater sampling using various sampling equipment and methodologies, including bailer, various pumps (low flow sampling), and passive sampling.
Landfill leachate, surface water (streams and stormwater), gas (methane, CO2 and O2), and soil (VOCs) sampling.
Oversight of soil borings (including detailed textural descriptions of soils).
Monitor well/landfill gas probe installation.
Sampling soil from Geoprobes and soil borings for various environmental contaminants, including VOCs, SVOCs, PCBs, Pesticides, Herbicides, and Metals/Inorganics.
Adhere to strict safety standards.
Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Pull and clean submersible pumps.
Maintain tools and equipment.
Understand how to use on-site equipment.
Qualifications
HS Diploma required; Associate’s in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
At least 1-2 years professional experience with the above activities strongly preferred, but candidates with a strong educational background and less professional experience will also be considered.
Ability to travel out of town for project assignments at least 50% of time (remaining field sampling sites are local).
Access to a reliable vehicle, valid Driver’s License, and safe driving record.
Ability to follow detailed sampling and analysis plans.
Strong understanding of and commitment to health and safety protocols.
Willing to work outside, in a variety of climates, and be able to traverse tough terrain at times.
Willing to work at active/closed landfills and industrial properties.
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus.
Good communication, writing, and organization skills.
Ability to use basic computer applications like Microsoft Office.
Willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds required.
Flexible schedule based on client demands.

Position will be compensated on an hourly basis. Job schedule for most project work will be set well in advance by pre-determined sampling schedules in facility permits. The qualified person would work in a team environment as the supporting field team member, with a more senior staff member providing support/guidance/mentorship, as needed.

This includes having to stay in hotels for extended periods. All travel expenses are covered for out of town assignment. \\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nResponsibilities\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tMonitor and document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners. \\r\\n\\tPerform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).\\r\\n\\tCommunicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.\\r\\n\\tTabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.\\r\\n\\tProvide clear documentation of findings and results.\\r\\n\\tWell field monitoring/tuning.\\r\\n\\tMonitor a variety of elements including explosive gas, surface emission, liquid level, LFG flare, etc.\\r\\n\\tGroundwater sampling using various sampling equipment and methodologies, including bailer, various pumps (low flow sampling), and passive sampling.\\r\\n\\tLandfill leachate, surface water (streams and stormwater), gas (methane, CO2 and O2), and soil (VOCs) sampling.\\r\\n\\tOversight of soil borings (including detailed textural descriptions of soils).\\r\\n\\tMonitor well/landfill gas probe installation.\\r\\n\\tSampling soil from Geoprobes and soil borings for various environmental contaminants, including VOCs, SVOCs, PCBs, Pesticides, Herbicides, and Metals/Inorganics.\\r\\n\\tAdhere to strict safety standards.\\r\\n\\tFollow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.\\r\\n\\tReport any safety issues or concerns to management.\\r\\n\\tBe responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.\\r\\n\\tPull and clean submersible pumps.\\r\\n\\tMaintain tools and equipment.\\r\\n\\tUnderstand how to use on-site equipment.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nQualifications\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tHS Diploma required; Associate’s in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.\\r\\n\\tAt least 1-2 years professional experience with the above activities strongly preferred, but candidates with a strong educational background and less professional experience will also be considered.\\r\\n\\tAbility to travel out of town for project assignments at least 50% of time (remaining field sampling sites are local).\\r\\n\\tAccess to a reliable vehicle, valid Driver’s License, and safe driving record.\\r\\n\\tAbility to follow detailed sampling and analysis plans.\\r\\n\\tStrong understanding of and commitment to health and safety protocols.\\r\\n\\tWilling to work outside, in a variety of climates, and be able to traverse tough terrain at times.\\r\\n\\tWilling to work at active/closed landfills and industrial properties.\\r\\n\\t40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus.\\r\\n\\tGood communication, writing, and organization skills.\\r\\n\\tAbility to use basic computer applications like Microsoft Office.\\r\\n\\tWillingness to work independently as well as in a team environment.\\r\\n\\tAbility to lift 50 pounds required.\\r\\n\\tFlexible schedule based on client demands.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nIn addition to our rewarding project work, Weaver Consultants Group offers its employees the following benefits:\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tGenerous paid time off for holidays, vacations, and sick leave\\r\\n\\tInsurance - reputable coverage for health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability\\r\\n\\t401K program with company-match\\r\\n\\tAnnual incentive bonus program\\r\\n\\tProfessional development and training\\r\\n\\tContinuing education reimbursement\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nPosition will be compensated on an hourly basis.
