          "text": "<p>The purpose of this role is to support Lunella Biotech’s mission in the discovery of anti-ageing and anti-cancer therapeutics. In more detail, you will work as part of a team of scientists, and will be responsible for the co-planning and execution of many experimental aspects of the project. This position will involve the identification and phenotypic validation of drugs that target senescent cells and cancer stem cells. The project will require the use of immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry applied to relevant samples.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>To perform experiments in the laboratory to test hypotheses regarding ageing and cancer</li><li>To plan and execute the experiments related to the phenotypic validation of identified drugs targeting CSCs and senescent cells.</li><li>To apply complex research techniques for the phenotypic validation of drug hits using immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and flow cytometry of relevant samples.</li><li>Take overall responsibility for several experimental components of the project.</li><li>To maintain accurate records of data and analysis performed of specific experiments for a given project, conducts literature searches, and maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all current experimental methods through professional reading.</li><li>To demonstrate a willingness to adapt and develop new skills.</li><li>To write up draft reports for manuscript publication and patent evaluation</li><li>To present data as required, during lab meetings and conferences</li><li>To collaborate with members within and outside of the laboratory</li><li>To comply with Health and Safety regulations</li><li>To promote equality and diversity and sustain an inclusive and supportive work environment</li><li>This role detail is a guide to the work you will initially be required to undertake.&#xa0; It may be changed from time to time to meet changing circumstances</li></ul><p>&#xa0;</p>",

We aim to develop new therapeutic approaches to these ageing-associated diseases, by targeting metabolism in cancer stem cells (CSCs) and senescent fibroblasts. More specifically, we will screen a series of chemical libraries containing FDA-approved drugs, natural products, and novel chemical entities, to identify compounds that can effectively age-associated metabolic features.
