Our teams are hands-on, collaborative, and focused on delivering outcomes that make a difference to communities.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>We’re looking for an experienced Technical Director or Team Leader with significant experience in the water sector, particularly in stormwater. Our Technical Directors play a key role in delivery - this is well suited to engineers who enjoy being involved across the full project lifecycle.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Your Role:</span></p>\n<p>This is an opportunity to lead and deliver complex water infrastructure projects from early stages through to construction monitoring, with real influence and support. We’re looking for practical engineers who:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage and deliver stormwater projects</li>\n<li>Oversee full design and delivery, not just design concepts or models</li>\n<li>Can operate across asset management or design &amp; build environments</li>\n<li>Confidently engage with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies</li>\n<li>Contribute leadership and mentoring within a multidisciplinary team</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the design and delivery of stormwater projects, including networks, outfalls, inlet and outlet structures, energy dissipation structures, culverts and treatment devices</li>\n<li>Provide technical leadership within the team</li>\n<li>Prepare briefs, estimates, feasibility studies, and contract documentation</li>\n<li>Manage construction phases and deliver to time, budget, and quality</li>\n<li>Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders</li>\n<li>Monitor hazards and ensure compliance with H&amp;S practices</li>\n<li>Coach and mentor junior engineers</li>\n<li>Stay current with relevant codes, standards, and software</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Bring:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A tertiary qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering</li>\n<li>10+ years’ experience in water infrastructure (ideally in NZ)</li>\n<li>CPEng or close to application</li>\n<li>A practical mindset - <span>confident moving from site to boardroom</span><br></li>\n<li>Strong technical design capability in stormwater hydraulics</li>\n<li>Experience with trenchless construction methods</li>\n<li>Leadership capability and a collaborative approach to problem solving</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Why Babbage?</span></p>\n<p>At Babbage, you’ll join a highly capable 3 Waters Infrastructure team.
