Description Position # : 158171 Expected Start Date: June 22, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Family Treatment Centre City/Town: Prince Albert Department: Addictions Family Trtmt Ctr Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 448 hours per 12 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Addictions Counsellor - Diploma $29.584 to $36.176 Travel Required: No Job Description: As a member of an interdisciplinary team and under the general direction of the Family Treatment Centre Manager and clinical supervisor the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking residential inpatient services for addiction by implementing services consistent with the current Provincial Clinical Model for Alcohol and Drug Services and the philosophy, objectives and standards set by the Family Treatment Centre. Responsibilities will include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counseling sessions to clients and their children in an inpatient setting. This position will be expected to assess individual/ family and group needs and implement plans to help clients reach their goals. As per Section 48 of the Saskatchewan Human Rights code the Employer has determined that only female candidates will be accepted for this position. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Chemical Dependency diploma Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Competencies Basic - Presentation skills Basic - Verbal communication skills Basic - Writing skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to work independently Knowledge in diverse cultures, values and traditions Knowledge in trauma informed care/gender-responsive care/harm reduction model Knowledge in human behaviour, group dynamics and mental health needs of adults Knowledge in substance abuse and addictions, including cause and effect Knowledge in addictions screening, assessment tools and procedures Other Information For more information on the city of Prince Albert please visit https://www.citypa.ca Organization Applicants must upload all relevant documents (ex: certificates, diplomas, proof of enrollment, licenses and/or memberships) relating to the qualifications of the position.
