In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide administrative support to patients, fellow employees and referral sources through the coordination and administration of the front office activities. The ideal candidate will have a background in an administrative role with strong with strong computer proficiency, and customer service. Your Impact Welcome people as they enter the clinic. Communicate anticipated wait times and/or delays. Check-in our patients (including verification of demographic and insurance information). Complete patient registration from walk-in patients. Collect all patient out of pocket responsibilities (i.e., deductibles, copays, co-insurance, etc.). Schedule next appointment for patients at check out, i.e., cast and measure, delivery, follow up, or prosthetic care plan appointments. Answer incoming calls. Act as a concierge of Hanger clinic services (including assistance in patient experience programs, support groups, and other resources). Assist RCM team as needed in obtaining missing/ additional information from patients. Maintain accurate and complete electronic healthcare records on our patients. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Be at minimum a good fit for the job, as determined by the Talent Sorter assessment preferred. Hanger will administer the Talent Sorter as part of the selection process Less than one year of customer service, administrative or related experience required. Experience in a receptionist position or experience with medical front office procedures preferred. Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures. Additional Success Factors Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone) and written communication skills. Ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy required. Ability to work with handicapped individuals. Understanding of Alpha filing system. Understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology and an understanding of front office (receptionist) duties preferred. Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and e-mail. Ability to use all necessary office equipment, facsimile machines, calculator, postage machine, copier, etc. Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships. Keep the patient at the center of everything that you do, building lifelong trust. Foster open collaboration and constructive dialogue with everyone around you. Continuously innovate new solutions, influencing and responding to change. Focus on superior outcomes, and calibrate work processes for outstanding results.
