    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Mechanical Inspector (Casual Part Time) Ontario</strong></p><p>Intertek is searching for a&nbsp;<strong>Mechanical Inspector</strong>&nbsp;to join our <strong>Technical Inspection Services&nbsp;team</strong> in Ontario, Canada.&nbsp; This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in&nbsp;<strong>Inspection Services</strong>!</p><p>The&nbsp;<strong>Mechanical Inspector</strong>&nbsp;is responsible for&nbsp;performing visual inspection of materials and/or fabricated equipment at vendor shops or on-site fabrication or testing facilities. The ideal candidate must be well versed in quality control inspections and tests, including nondestructive testing techniques, mechanical testing, dimensional inspection, pressure testing and welding inspections. This position will travel at least 25% of the time.</p><p><strong>Shift/Schedule:&nbsp;</strong>All inspectors are utilized on an Adhoc basis and are not provided daily duties. All needs are based on our clients’ needs and we source inspectors based on availability, location, taxonomy approvals, and specific client requests..</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li>Perform inspections or audits and reviewing testing for conformance to Client specifications, industry standards, and approved procedures and reporting of results</li><li>Review material test reports to conformance with applicable codes and standards</li><li>Perform the follow-up of dispositions and corrective actions related to non-conformances</li><li>Document inspection activities in electronic formats</li><li>Evaluate and agree upon project quality procedures, standards, and specifications ensuring that all parties (engineering, procurement, manufacturing) are adhering to them</li><li>Review Inspection &amp; Testing Plans to ensure a standardized minimum level of surveillance in accordance with the contractual requirements. Identify the critical inspections and tests to be witnessed by the Owner</li><li>Carry out inspection visits as per ITP’s either personally or through 3rd&nbsp;party resource</li></ul><p>This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What it takes to be successful in this role:</strong></p><p><strong>Minimum Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED,&nbsp;Trade School, On-The-Job Training or University Diploma&nbsp;</li><li>5+ years of third-party vendor inspection, expediting or auditing experience</li><li>Experience in quality control inspections and tests, including nondestructive testing techniques, mechanical testing, dimensional inspection, pressure testing and coating inspections</li><li>Technical training in subjects, such as, but not limited to quality, NDT, blueprint reading, industry standards, auditing, expediting, materials, welding, coatings, electrical components, instrumentation, pressure testing, well control, equipment operation and assembly</li><li>Must have experience with Mechanical/Pressure Vessels and lifting equipment&nbsp;</li><li>Must have basic knowledge of material properties</li><li>Possess clear understanding of basic procurement and fabrication processes with knowledge of relevant codes and specifications for the oil and gas industry</li><li>Ability to travel frequently throughout the continental US</li><li>Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required</li><li>Proficient in MS Office programs and Outlook</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Valid Industry Certification preferred – Examples of such certifications include, but not limited to:&nbsp; AWS CWI, CWB Level 2, API 510, 570, SI, ASNT or CGSB NDT Level II, III.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Salary Information</strong></p><p>The hourly rate range for this position is $50.00 -$70.00 hourly.
