Description

Are you passionate about protecting and restoring natural ecosystems? BETA Group, Inc is looking for a Wetland Project Scientist to join our growing New Hampshire team and play a key role in shaping environmentally responsible projects across New England. From fieldwork to permitting strategy, you will be at the forefront of meaningful, hands-on environmental work that supports a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and land development projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers, planners, and environmental professionals to deliver practical, compliant, and sustainable solutions for our clients. Responsibilities: Lead wetland delineations, functional assessments, and ecological studies for diverse infrastructure and development projects Review and understand project construction documents and requirements, including NH DOT plans specifications Guide permitting efforts at the local, state, and federal levels, including Section 404 Clean Water Act approvals, NHDES Dredge/Fill Permits, etc. Maintain environmental compliance matrices and prepare detailed compliance reports Conduct routine field visits to assess construction impacts on wetland conditions, ensuring projects comply with issued permits Attend and present at regulatory coordination meetings to support project teams and clients Partner with engineers, planners, and project managers to integrate environmental solutions into design Prepare clear, high-quality technical reports and regulatory documents for clients and agencies Contribute to team discussions and project deliverables while learning from experienced professionals Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture Preferred location is BETA’s Manchester, NH office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.
