Description Embark on a Journey of Impactful Adventure As a secondary staff person, the Junior Camp Counselor is responsible for the safety, well-being and supervision of the campers. All assigned duties will be performed in a manner reflecting the YMCA of the USA character development traits of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility. Who Are We? Assist with the implementation of activities in accordance with the camp schedule. Maintain positive relationships with campers, parents, and staff. Organize and maintain camp equipment, supplies, and property. Actively participate in all aspects of the day camp schedule as assigned. Maintain camp records including, but not limited to accident & incident reports, sign in/out sheets, attendance documents. Maintain expectations of the YMCA guidelines for requirements/ratio and help others do the same. Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications What You'll Need Must be at least 15–17 years old Prior experience working with children, preferred DHS licensed sites require staff who are 15-17 years old to be enrolled in and/or have completed Early Childhood Education classes. Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic Attend all required pre-camp and camp season training and meetings as scheduled Work Conditions and Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, communicate and hear.
