With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Joby Aviation is seeking a driven engineer with C++ development skills and experience, an ability to understand complex problems and create reliable, repeatable solutions. This engineer will play a key role in a small, fast-moving team. They will participate in architecture, design, and implementation of solutions that support and expand our integrated vehicle simulators. They will work with software and hardware engineers across the company to help them test and improve their solutions.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Help maintain and improve solutions that combine simulated and hardware environments to test the behavior of on-vehicle software as if it were on the vehicle</li>\n <li>Architect, design, and develop improvements and extensions for simulation software</li>\n <li>Enhance the simulations to more accurately reflect the behavior in actual vehicles of the software being tested</li>\n <li>Enhance the performance and reliability of the simulation's solutions</li>\n <li>Adapt simulations to new vehicle designs</li>\n <li>Provide support and consulting to users of the simulation across the organization that depend on the simulators for their daily work</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>University degree in computer science or computer engineering and 5+ year’s industry experience. An advanced degree and 3+ years’ experience will also be considered</li>\n <li>Significant experience and demonstrable expertise in C++                           </li>\n <li>Understanding of Continuous Integration, Continuous Development (CI/CD) and DevOps tools</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Linux OS and command-line tools</li>\n <li>Willingness to be flexible and learn new technologies</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Desired</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Understanding of aircraft and aviation (or development in a regulatory environment)</li>\n <li>Network experience (VLANs, UDP, Wireshark, etc)</li>\n <li>Experience working with the Linux scheduler</li>\n <li>Experience developing software using Python</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
