    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Sedgman is currently seeking <strong>a Senior</strong> <strong>Mechanical Engineer (Piping)&nbsp;</strong>for their Vancouver office.&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">The ideal candidate will have mechanical design experience working on mining/heavy industrial projects, from conceptual design and studies through to project completion; they will have strong knowledge and experience specifically in piping as well as platework and mechanical process equipment.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">This individual will be responsible for a variety of tasks, ranging from engineering design, equipment selection, and on-site support and quality control. They will participate in all project phases, studies, detailed engineering design, construction, and commissioning and will be able to ensure that engineering functions are efficiently completed and technically compliant.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\"><strong>What does this role involve?&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\"><strong>Main Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 24px;\"><li><p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Provide technical direction and guidance to project staff to ensure goals and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Work on mining and industrial designs, piping and equipment layouts, mechanical equipment selections and integration, fluid and slurry pumping equipment and piping, etc.&nbsp;</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Participate in all project phases including scoping, feasibility, detailed design, construction support, commissioning, field engineering, and business development.</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Prepare and review Mechanical Equipment List, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping &amp; Instrumentation Diagrams (P&amp;IDs).</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Lead and perform mechanical design tasks during detailed design, including interfacing with vendors, reviewing vendor data, and reviewing/releasing engineering drawings for construction</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Participate in design review workshops, and coordinate other members of the mechanical team to complete any actions</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Collaborate with multidiscipline teams and mentor junior engineers and technical staff to develop solutions based on engineering calculations and simulations.</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Support procurement, construction, and site activities including package development, vendor coordination and bid reviews.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Monitor compliance with design, identify potential or actual non-conformances and document for resolution.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Lead responses to queries from construction personnel including, including risk assessment, Quality observations, RFI’s &amp; technical queries, construction planning with associated staff and subcontractors.</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Promote a strong safety culture and adhere to company policies and procedures.</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\">Work in a safe manner at all times.</span><br><br>&nbsp;</p></li></ul><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;\"><strong>What are we looking for in our future team member?
