    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Performs diagnostic imaging studies in accordance with physician orders and departmental guidelines.</p>\n<p>Prepares and transports patients as necessary.</p>\n<p>Prepares imaging equipment, room, and images, as need for interpretation.</p>\n<p>Verifies and completes studies in RIS and PACS.</p>\n<p>Maintains Quality Control on Equipment as Instructed.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>1. Receives and reviews requests for radiologic studies.</p>\n<p>2. Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.</p>\n<p>3. Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.</p>\n<p>4. Interviews patients and reviews available clinical data from charts to alert nurses and/or physicians to</p>\n<p>possible contradictions for procedure.</p>\n<p>5. Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and effects of disease processes to properly and</p>\n<p>safety position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield.</p>\n<p>6. Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, operating suites and at</p>\n<p>the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low</p>\n<p>as reasonably achievable) standards.</p>\n<p>7. Maintains radiographic equipment and x ray rooms in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and</p>\n<p>necessary repairs to supervisory personnel.</p>\n<p>8. Performs various clerical duties including.</p>\n<p>9. Assists with examination of higher complexity such as arteriography, myelography, etc. Some examinations</p>\n<p>may require competence in venipuncture.</p>\n<p>10. Performs work of equal skill, effort, and responsibility as directed and may perform work of a higher level in</p>\n<p>preparation for increased responsibility.</p>\n<p>11. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general</p>\n<p>safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.</p>\n<p>12. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.</p>\n<p>13. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to</p>\n<p>ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.</p>\n<p>14. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and</p>\n<p>interdepartmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Associate's Degree associate degree in Radiology from approved two-year program Required</p>\n<p>State licensure required ARRT required Required</p>\n<p>CPR Required</p>",
