You should be a leader that is quick to respond and ready to protect our members. You will learn life skills such as multi-tasking, time management, organization, and how to effectively handle difficult situations. Imagine going to work each day knowing that what you do will make a difference in the lives of others. &nbsp;</span><p><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,sans-serif;\"><br><strong>Not Certified Yet?</strong> <a href=\"https://www.somersetcountyymca.org/programs/adult/skills-training\" target=\"_self\">Click here to register for an upcoming Lifeguard certification course</a>.</span></span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,sans-serif;\"><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong> &nbsp;</span></span></p><ul><li dir=\"auto\" style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Maintains active surveillance of the pool area. &nbsp;</li><li dir=\"auto\" style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Completes related reports as required.&nbsp;</li><li dir=\"auto\" style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.
