For additional information, click here.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Required</li>\n <li>Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Related Field with 30 credits in Early Childhood Education. Preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Two (2) years work experience with young children (birth to 8 years) unless candidate possesses an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. Required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ABILITIES AND SKILLS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Effective oral and written communication skills. Required</li>\n <li>Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with children and parents Required</li>\n <li>Sensitivity to the expectations of children and parents. Required</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Pennsylvania regulations related to Child Care Centers. Required</li>\n <li>Developed organizational skills. Required</li>\n <li>Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain. Required</li>\n <li>Functional ability with microcomputers and associated software programs utilized to maintain Center records. Required</li>\n <li>Knowledge of NAEYC standards for early childhood accreditation. Preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Assist the Childcare Teacher with the implementation of developmentally appropriate daily program activities that reflect the program's philosophy and curriculum, as well as goals for individual children.</li>\n<li>Comply with all requirements for the protection and safety of Center children as directed by the Childcare Teacher.</li>\n<li>Assist the Childcare Teacher with the safe arrival and departure of children.</li>\n<li>Follow the Center's plan to deal with medical emergencies and site evacuations as required.</li>\n<li>Assist the Childcare Teacher with assessments and evaluations of children as requested and/or participate in parent conferences, as needed.</li>\n<li>Assist program staff with serving meals and snacks to children.</li>\n<li>Maintain classroom materials and equipment in a safe and orderly manner.</li>\n<li>Assume responsibility for classroom operation in the absence of the Childcare Teacher.</li>\n<li>Maintain up-to-date accurate written records on children's attendance, results of screenings, medications, assessments, meals, and parent contacts.</li>\n<li>Participate in staff development opportunities.</li>\n<li>Attend staff and joint academic program and Center planning meetings.</li>\n<li>Serve as a positive role model for the Center's children, families, Penn College students, and volunteers.</li>\n<li>Encourage parental involvement in related Center activities.</li>\n<h2>Physical Standards and Special Job Features</h2>Ability to lift 25 lbs.\n<h2>Pay Transparency</h2>Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the hourly range is $13.00 - $17.00.\n<h2>College Statement</h2>This is not a complete itemization of all facets of this position.
