Description

Position Overview General Summary: The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist will be responsible for supporting the corporate wide engineering and quality mandates and will work closely with both Engineering and QAT (the Quality Assurance Test team). Key responsibilities include project testing activities, documentation of test cases, review of requirements and design documentation, execution of integration and validation test plans, creating and maintaining test tools/equipment, defect reporting and defect management, quality goal setting, and recommending process improvements. Essential Job Functions: Develop and maintain test procedures for the areas of new and existing functionality in the product(s). Conduct testing in various phases including integration and validation, logging all defects. Executing the system test procedures. Conduct ongoing integration and regression tests of the product. Analyze test results and defect data to identify problematic products. Maintain test procedures and test records for project release testing. Advise any ideas for the improvement of the team or processes. In a timely fashion, report any variances from the target completion date of the tasks, or that the tasks cannot be completed. Create and maintain testing tools/equipment. Work effectively in collaboration with staff across the organization. Assist in providing training and support to other departments on Quality Manual and Procedures as required. Produce quality reports as required. Other duties as directed by System Verification Manager or Senior Management. Knowledge and Experience: Formal post-secondary degree/diploma in computer science, engineering or a related discipline is desirable 1-2 years experience working with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality standards is desirable. 1-2 years experience in development and execution of test plans in a development environment. Experience working (as an intern or full-time employee) for a commercial diagnostic ultrasound company Working experience in a clinical environment is an asset. Experience with all aspects of the development lifecycle. Skills and Abilities: Thorough understanding of test methodology, including test plans, system and integration level testing, and status reporting. Understanding of Quality Assurance methods. Ability to plan and execute testing activities and projects Familiarity with Microsoft family of products (Word / Excel). Familiarity with C# or equivalent languages is an asset. Familiarity with defect tracking software packages. Ability to quickly understand and then utilize new software packages. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Detail orientated when learning and testing. Ability to work independently as well as participate in a team of professionals. Ability to respond to urgent situations appropriately by prioritization. Ability to leverage relationships across other departments. Ability to follow up with individuals without guidance. Ability to adapt to project timelines and changes to priorities. Accuracy and strong attention to detail is essential. Willingness to learn. Salary: $36.92 - $43.59 CAD depending on experience (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range). Compensation and Benefits: Salary Range: The annual base salary for this position is $32.92/hour-$43.59/hour The exact hourly rate offered will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience relative to the requirements of the role.
