Our Maintenance Technicians repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as printing presses, saddle stitchers/trimmers, cutters, folders, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, heating/air conditioning systems, compressed air systems and related binding/finishing and prepress production machines and equipment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Observes mechanical devices, equipment and machinery in operation and listens to their sounds to diagnose machine malfunction and determines the need for adjustment, repair or replacement.</li><li>Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications&nbsp;.</li><li>Dismantles machinery and/or equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.</li><li>Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.</li><li>Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.</li><li>Adjusts functional parts or devices and control instruments.</li><li>Repairs or replaces defective parts.</li><li>Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.</li><li>Assembles and test operates machinery and equipment to verify correction of malfunction.</li><li>Coordinates with manager and assists with production operator’s timely preventative maintenance and predictive parts replacement and repair.</li><li>Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.</li><li>Repairs electrical equipment or replaces faulty wiring, switches, or relays, as qualified to perform.</li><li>Coordinates for outside services when needed.</li><li>Initiates purchase orders for parts, repairs or replacement equipment or pieces.</li><li>Monitors paper recycling operations and performs minor repairs and coordinates outside service with manager for major repairs and operation malfunctions.</li><li>Ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA and EPA federal and state rules, regulations, policies and guidelines and company safety rules in the plant.</li><li>All other duties as assigned.</li></ul>",
