Our Gramercy refinery produces 1.2 million tons a year of smelter grade alumina (SGA) for the production of aluminum as well as chemical grade alumina (CGA) which is used in a wide array of industrial applications.<br></p><p><strong>We are currently seeking 2 Machinists for our Gramercy, LA refinery.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Summary/Objective</strong></p><p>This role is responsible for setting up and performing various types of machining on any type of rough or finished stocks or parts.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Functions / Qualities / Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Reads and interpret blueprints, charts, and sketches.</li><li>Know shop mathematics and can thoroughly plan own work.</li><li>Set up and operate machines to fabricate or repair parts within close tolerances.</li><li>Fabricate and fits all types of journal bearings, couplings, etc. Does bench and floor work. Knows thoroughly the working properties of the materials handled.</li><li>Operates and directs the operation of weight-lifting devices in moving heavy material or equipment to and from the work area.</li><li>Dismantles inspects for sources of trouble, repairs, and reassembles all types of machinery and equipment in the plant as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Education/Training Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Highschool diploma or equivalent</li><li>Must have at least 3 years of craft experience in a craft environment.</li><li>Hands of craft testing will be a required portion of the application process.</li></ul>",
