    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><u>SUMMARY</u></p>\n<p>The Senior Financial Analyst provides complex transactional support for a process within a full accounting cycle and is involved in full accounting cycle for a client contract (s) or business unit(s).&nbsp; At this level, the incumbent typically supports multiple portfolios and complex transactions.</p>\n<p><u>KEY DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</u></p>\n<p>Month End Close</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Review project revenue/gross margins &amp; unbilled backlog analysis with the finance/operational leaders for month end review.</li>\n <li>Prepare the revenue recognition entries (using percentage of completion revenue recognition) with supporting<br>\n  documents/calculations as required.</li>\n <li>Conduct project financial close out and reconciliation.</li>\n <li>Record journal entries, and maintain and reconcile general ledger to the job cost and other sub ledgers.</li>\n <li>Answering internal and external financial inquiries as it relates to the specific client account.</li>\n <li>Perform timely month end close and ensure recording all pertinent transactions including project /labour / various monthly accruals.</li>\n <li>Ensure / investigate Accounts Receivable collection, and explanation for overdue balances.</li>\n <li>Prepare monthly reports for specific client accounts.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Financial Planning &amp; Analysis Support</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct detailed profitability analysis of variances between planned, forecasted, and actual figures</li>\n <li>Assistance in conducting accurate and complete forecasting of revenue and margins by project</li>\n <li>Provide support for process improvement initiatives</li>\n <li>Provide support for job costing and pricing</li>\n <li>Prepare other ad hoc reports for management as required</li>\n <li>Understand GAAP requirements, particularly around revenue recognition</li>\n <li>Understand basic interactions between financial systems related to the portfolio supported</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>KNOWLEDGE &amp; SKILLS REQUIRED</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3-6 years of progressive experience in public accounting or industry roles</li>\n <li>University graduation or professional certification (e.g. P. Eng, CMA, CGA or equivalent courses)</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate basic accounting principles to support procedures and to explain financial results within the team and to internal customers.</li>\n <li>Ability to complete and resolve assigned complex account reconciliation which sees the highest transaction volume or deal with multiple portfolios or business units.</li>\n <li>Ability to reconcile and resolve discrepancies between general ledger and sub ledger.</li>\n <li>Ability to identify and provide recommendations for issues and process improvement opportunities at account and business unit level following GAAP procedures.</li>\n <li>In-depth understanding of audit requirements within scope of responsibility.</li>\n <li>Ability to provide input to process documentations and business cases; write variance explanations, summaries of findings and recommendations.</li>\n <li>Advanced level knowledge of current accounting systems and MS Office suite of software</li>\n <li>Understanding of more complex accounting issues like revenue recognition (% completion/project accounting)</li>\n <li>Excellent analytical abilities, including advanced Excel skills to assist with financial modeling (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.)</li>\n <li>Ability to operate in high growth environments with an view of implementing more standard processes and best practices</li>\n <li>Strong process improvement and/or implementation experience</li>\n <li>Detail oriented, self-starter with strong interpersonal, and communication skills</li>\n <li>Proactive and good problem solving skills</li>\n</ul>\n<div style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px\">\n &nbsp;\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px\">\n Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation\n</div>\n<p>Completed an Accounting designation program (CGA, CMA, CPA)</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $75,440 - $100,000 per annum.
