ABOUT THIS POSITION
Schedule/Hours: Seasonal Full-Time
This position is responsible for:
Plans, schedules, instructs, supervises, and monitors the day-to-day general housekeeping of the camp facilities; ensures all rooms and offices are well maintained and cleaned; ensures all housekeeping equipment remains in proper working order and in compliance with standard operating procedures and safety standards; maintains an inventory of all Salvation Army cleaning supplies. Leads other camp housekeepers in the proper methods and procedures for performing housekeeping work; cleans bedrooms, washes, stores and distributes linens; ensures the cleanliness of the camp daily.
Key Responsibilities:
Plans, schedules, assign, and supervises the work of housekeeping personnel; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
Inspects and cleans buildings and grounds daily to ensure the floors, walls, stairwells, walkways, halls, windows, bathrooms, offices, trash cans, etc. are clean and well maintained.
Supervises and monitors the washing and drying of linens and/or donated clothing; Reports needed repairs for washers and dryers.
Maintains an adequate and organized inventory of housekeeping supplies; orders needed supplies and materials in accordance with policy; retrieves supplies from the warehouse and distributes supplies to appropriate departments.
Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Some physical requirements of the Camp Head Housekeeping/Laundress position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.
Additional Information:
Camp Staff Orientation will be held 06/15/2026 – 06/21/2026 and participation is required. The 2026 summer Camp program session will be held 06/22/2026 – 07/27/2026. If you are unable to work the entire season, please let us know on your application.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
Three years’ experience performing housekeeping work with at least one year lead worker or supervisory experience preferred, OR
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
CPR and First Aid Certification.

Leads other camp housekeepers in the proper methods and procedures for performing housekeeping work; cleans bedrooms, washes, stores and distributes linens; ensures the cleanliness of the camp daily.\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nKey Responsibilities:\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tPlans, schedules, assign, and supervises the work of housekeeping personnel; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tInspects and cleans buildings and grounds daily to ensure the floors, walls, stairwells, walkways, halls, windows, bathrooms, offices, trash cans, etc. are clean and well maintained.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tSupervises and monitors the washing and drying of linens and/or donated clothing; Reports needed repairs for washers and dryers.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nMaintains an adequate and organized inventory of housekeeping supplies; orders needed supplies and materials in accordance with policy; retrieves supplies from the warehouse and distributes supplies to appropriate departments.\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tParticipates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights and other all-camp activities and camp functions.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tSome physical requirements of the Camp Head Housekeeping/Laundress position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nAdditional Information: \\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nCamp Staff Orientation will be held 06/15/2026 – 06/21/2026 and participation is required.
