We have been in business since 1955, and serve a variety of markets throughout Atlantic and Western Canada, the Eastern US, and the Caribbean.&nbsp;</p><p>OSCO Aggregates, a division of OSCO Construction Group,&nbsp;<span> </span>is seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Loader Operator / Maintenance Worker to join our pit operations team. This dual-role position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment —primarily wheel loaders—and performing routine maintenance, inspections, and general upkeep of equipment and pit infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.</p><p><strong>Loader Operation</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Operate wheel loaders to move, load, and stockpile aggregates in a safe and efficient manner.</li><li>Supply material to washplant, and other processing equipment.</li><li>Load customer trucks accurately while following weight, quality, and safety guidelines.</li><li>Perform pre‑operational and post‑operational inspections of equipment.</li><li>Monitor material quality and communicate concerns to the supervisor.</li><li>Maintain clean and organized work areas, including stockpile management and yard housekeeping.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Maintenance Duties</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Conduct routine maintenance on washplant, conveyors, loaders and other pit equipment (greasing, fluid checks, belt adjustments, etc.).</li><li>Assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.</li><li>Support washplant shutdowns, rebuilds, and seasonal maintenance activities.</li><li>Report equipment issues promptly and assist mechanics as needed.</li><li>Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inspection records.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;\">&nbsp;</p><p><strong>General Pit Support</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Follow all company policies and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Assist with site improvements, including grading, drainage, road upkeep, and environmental compliance.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth pit operations.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;\">&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in an aggregates or construction environment.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with wheel loaders required; additional equipment experience considered an asset.&nbsp;</li><li>Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort performing routine maintenance tasks.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong safety mindset with knowledge of pit/quarry safety regulations.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience in aggregates, mining or construction industries preferred</li><li>Basic mechanical aptitude; ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment</li><li>Welding experience an asset</li><li>Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks</li><li>Valid class 5 driver’s license and own reliable transportation</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Excellent hand/eye coordination</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment</li><li>Flexibility in work schedule (early mornings, days, evenings)</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Outdoor, physically active work environment in an operational aggregate pit.</li><li>Exposure to dust, noise, equipment movement, and weather conditions.</li><li>Use of required PPE at all times.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left: 0.25in;\">&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>As a member of the OSCO Construction Group, OSCO Aggregates offers comprehensive compensation and benefits package including health and dental coverage, life insurance and RRSP options.
