    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">FT</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Functions:</span></p>\n<p>1. Perform phlebotomies and capillary punctures on inpatients and outpatients.  Able to obtain adequate specimen from all patient age ranges-neonatal to geriatric.    <br>2. Prepares, organizes, and distributes specimens in the lab for testing.    3. Collects specimens at the proper time according to procedure.  Collects STATS within 15 minutes of notification.    <br>4. Correctly identifies patient by using two identifiers prior to specimen collection.    <br>5. Correctly labels patient specimens with patient name, date, identification number, time and phlebotomist initials.    <br>6. Performs test order entry for laboratory testing.    <br>7. Takes phone orders from physician for patient testing and correctly completes required documentation for phone orders.    <br>8. Performs general cleaning, washes glassware, and maintains blood collection area and equipment.    <br>9. Is familiar with Laboratory office routine and is able to function in office if necessary (filing, logging, looking up results, etc.)    <br>10. Performs other duties as assigned.    <br>11. Performs breath alcohol testing and collects urine drug of abuse screens according to procedure.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:        <br>Must be able to read, write neatly, file, and organize.  Due to extremely large amounts of patient contact, must have outstanding grooming habits and outgoing personality.        <br>Education:        <br>High School Diploma or equivalent        <br>Experience:        <br>Previous healthcare and phlebotomy experience preferred.        <br>Certification/Licensure:        <br>None required.        <br>Code Blue Training:        <br>B.C.L.S.(Basic Cardiac Life Support): Maintain certification, renew every two years.        <br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Demands:</span></p>\n<p>Requires frequent sitting.  Occasional walking and standing.  Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.  Eye-hand, manual, and finger dexterity are required.  Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.  Requires working irregular hours and under stressful conditions.  Some exposure to sharps, communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and body fluids is required.  Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and grasping is required.  Overhead work is occasionally required.  Occasional pushing and pulling of objects up to 75 pounds.  Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols.  Use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, or copiers is required.        <br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working Conditions:</span></p>\n<p>Shifts will vary depending upon the needs of the Laboratory and could be early morning, late afternoon, early evening, weekends, and holidays.  Routinely required to wear appropriate clothing for the procurement of Laboratory specimens; if regular street clothes are chosen, an approved lab jacket or coat must be worn when dealing with patients.        <br></p>",
