We see approximately 44,500 patients annually who vary from locals to tourists from around the world. Our ED department is equipped with 30 ER beds as well as an 8-bed observation center and 2 triage rooms. The ER staff is made up of RNs, ER Techs, and HUCs that work together to provide excellent patient care. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:  </strong></p>\n<p>The LPN/LVN will provide nursing care under supervision of a registered nurse, within an assigned unit.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Initiates admission database and history, and in collaboration with the RN implements patient and family teaching and care needs.</li>\n <li>Practices in compliance with all regulatory standards and adheres to all hospital policy and procedures in the performance of duties.</li>\n <li>Performs and prioritizes nursing care tasks.</li>\n <li>Accurately follows the nursing plan of care and pertinent medical orders in collaboration and under direction of a RN.</li>\n <li>Observes and reports nursing interventions and patient responses, and documents in a timely, concise and legible manner.</li>\n <li>Recognizes, responds, and reports changes in patient conditions to RN Team Leader.</li>\n <li>Participates in unit specific quality assurance activities and patient care conferences as requested.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates principles of infection control; collaborates with infection control nurse to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and personnel.</li>\n <li>Assists in orienting new employees or students to unit routines.</li>\n <li>Administers IV venipuncture and parenteral fluids per established hospital protocol.</li>\n <li>Performs specific advanced patient care treatments as approved to perform per hospital protocol.</li>\n <li>Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.</li>\n <li> Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Education</strong><strong>:  </strong></p>\n<p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Experience: </strong></p>\n<p>No prior experience as a LPN/LVN needed.</p>\n<p>  </p>\n<p><strong>License Requirement: </strong></p>\n<p>Currently licensed by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN).</p>",
