    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\">JOB DESCRIPTION</p><p><br></p><p>POSITION TITLE: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN</p><p>DEPARTMENT: &nbsp;CLINICAL</p><p>REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR OF CLINICAL SUPPORT STAFF</p><p>SUPERVISES: N/A</p><p><br></p><p>Entry Level Qualifications:</p><p>Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science, CRC, or CRSS preferred; one year experience in alcohol/drug treatment with direct patient contact preferred. Candidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate a basic understanding of the principles of chemical dependency recovery. Maintain records and have good communication skills.</p><p>1.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must have valid driver&rsquo;s license and good driving record.</p><p>2.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be able to walk within the facility and on the grounds of the facility for approximately one (1) mile per every eight (8) hour shift.</p><p>3.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be able to continuously sit for approximately three (3) hours per eight (8) hour shift.</p><p>4.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be able to administer CPR and be certified.</p><p>5.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be able to see and hear constantly.</p><p>6.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations.</p><p>7.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be able to stand continuously in increments of 45 minutes to one (1) hour.</p><p>8.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence.</p><p>General Responsibilities:</p><p>Behavioral Health Techs are integral in the overall functioning of the facility. In all instances, the Techs will interact with the patient in accordance with established treatment policies and procedures. Techs may facilitate patient orientation, as necessary.</p><p>Essential Functions:</p><p>1.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Assist in luggage and body searches.</p><p>2.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Monitor and sometimes facilitate the Book Studies and Recovery meetings.</p><p>3.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be aware of patient locations, at all times, circulating around the facility on a regular basis and document hourly checks.</p><p>4.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Assure that all patients follow the Bradford Program Schedule and are on time for each assignment.</p><p>5.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Supervise and sometime facilitate patient activities as directed.</p><p>6.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Assure the patients are in their rooms at the designated time in the evening.</p><p>7.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Oversee med line to prevent diversion and to de-escalate situations as they arise.</p><p>8.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Assist patients to and from activities, medication times, and meals when unable to physically walk.</p><p>9.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Assist the counselor as assigned and engage in appropriate documentation.</p><p>10.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Responsible for the adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.</p><p><br></p><p>Behavioral Health Technician (cont&rsquo;d)</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>11.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Demonstrates the ability to assist patients in overcoming their denial and resistance to treatment and completion of treatment goals.</p><p>12.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Demonstrated the ability to manage communities, redirect behavior, and document shift reports.</p><p>13.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Attend staff training and programs as directed.</p><p>14.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Assist nurses as directed by supervisor.</p><p>15.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Drive patients to and from appointments, to include patient outings, as directed.</p><p>16.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Drive to purchase patient sundries and miscellaneous items; including nicotine products as directed.</p><p>17.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, must not appear impaired or disoriented, but rather must present coherent and articulate speech, kept appearance, alert, oriented, and responsive to patients&rsquo; needs and concerns.</p><p>18.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner.</p><p>19.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients, and prospective clients.</p><p>20.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Regular attendance.</p><p>21.<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Other duties as assigned.</p><p><br></p><p>Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part2, &ldquo;Confidentiality of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Patient Records&rdquo;, and 45 CFR &ldquo;Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.&rdquo; This position has unrestricted access to patient identifying and patient health information.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>____________________________________________________<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>________________________</p><p>Employee Signature<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Date</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>____________________________________________________<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p><p>Employee Printed Name</p><p><br></p><p><br></p></div>\n",
