The Cedars-Sinai Spine Center is a nationally recognized, multidisciplinary program dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of complex spine conditions. As part of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a leading academic medical center consistently ranked among the top hospitals in the nation, the Spine Center brings together experts in orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain management, and advanced imaging to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
The department provides a full spectrum of services, including non-operative care, minimally invasive procedures, complex spinal deformity correction, and advanced surgical interventions. Care is supported by cutting-edge technology, evidence-based practices, and a strong focus on innovation, research, and clinical outcomes. Patients benefit from coordinated care pathways, access to specialized programs, and a commitment to improving function, reducing pain, and enhancing quality of life.
With a collaborative team-based model, the Spine Center emphasizes timely access, individualized treatment plans, and seamless integration across specialties to ensure the highest standards of care for both routine and highly complex spine conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide clinic-based care, including patient evaluations, documentation, and coordination
Serve as first assist in the operating room for spine procedures
Participate in pre-operative and post-operative care, including education and follow-up
Manage patient communications and clinical questions (phone, EMR messaging)
Conduct peer-to-peer reviews for insurance authorization
Support post-operative management, including inpatient rounding, recovery monitoring, and wound care
Opportunity to develop and lead independent clinics over time
Qualifications
Education Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Experience At least one year of experience as a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a focus in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery. Experience in Robotics/First Assist is highly preferred. License/Certification Current, unrestricted California PA license. DEA License required. National PA certification. ACLS Life Support certification.
