Responsibilities will include intense complex coverage claims handling, coverage analysis, investigation, and management of litigated files. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Present facts of claims, with recommendations, to committee as necessary on General Liability claims.</li>\n <li>Incorporate all claims into company records and review for applicability of coverage. </li>\n <li>Prepare large loss reports where applicable.</li>\n <li>Attend and participate in mediations/trials as necessary.</li>\n <li>Establish appropriate loss and expense reserves. Maintain valid loss and expense reserves based on current investigation and legal discovery.</li>\n <li>Supervise activities of Independent Adjusters, investigators and defense attorneys to ensure that all claims are appropriately handled.</li>\n <li>Adhere to company procedures and Best Practice guidelines as well as case and statutory law requirements when coverage is in question, and/or when paying or denying claims.</li>\n <li>Comply with reporting requirements of treaty and facultative reinsurers.</li>\n <li>Maintain current understanding of various unfair claim practices statutes.</li>\n <li>Incorporate all claims into company records and review for applicability of coverage.</li>\n <li>Participate in broker relations calls/visits as needed.</li>\n <li>Attend industry related seminar workshops and/or courses for continuing education.</li>\n <li>Additional tasks as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).</li>\n <li>7 + years commercial insurance claims handling experience with<strong> specific focus on CGL, construction defect and long term exposure claims. </strong></li>\n <li>Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively.</li>\n <li>Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.</li>\n <li>Strong research and analytical skills.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with MS Office Suite.</li>\n <li>Up to 20% travel.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>#LI-FL1 #LI-HYBRID</em> </p>\n<h2>Additional Company Details</h2>We do not accept any unsolicited resumes from external recruiting firms. The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role includes: Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. Eligible to participate in the annual discretionary bonus program.
