Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Electric Motor Shop Mechanics to service and repair large motors and generators in our St. Paul shop. Shermco is ISO certified, a member of EASA, AWEA, PEARL and is accredited by NETA, PEV, SKF & ANAB.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Shermco Industries is seeking a Motor Shop Mechanic</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Test, inspect, evaluate, dismantle, repair, and reassemble AC and DC electric motors, generators, and pumps.</li>\n <li>Disassemble and remove armature, stator or rotor from frame or stators.</li>\n <li>Examine coil connections for broken or defective wiring.</li>\n <li>Examine all parts for cracks, wear, rubbing, broken or out of tolerances for specific parameters.</li>\n <li>Remove bearings from shafts and/or housings.</li>\n <li>Examine bearings, shafts, and other moving parts for excessive wear of defects.</li>\n <li>Test coils, armatures, stators, rotors and field coils for continuity, shorts and grounds and insulation resistance</li>\n <li>Measure and record machined parts fits.</li>\n <li>Prepare parts for assembly.</li>\n <li>Assemble and test rotating machine for specified performance.</li>\n</ul> \n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong mechanical aptitude.</li>\n <li>Experience on inspecting, dismantling, and reassembly of large AC and DC industrial motors or wind generators up to 3,000 HP.</li>\n <li>Experience safely operating overhead cranes.</li>\n <li>Must be able to safely lift and maneuver up to 75 lbs</li>\n <li>Must be and remain Drug-Free; subject to periodic, unannounced random drug tests.</li>\n <li>Must have and maintain a good criminal background check.</li>\n <li>All offers are conditioned on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening. </li>\n <li>Must be willing and able to work regular overtime including nights, weekends, and some holidays.</li>\n <li>Must be able to fluently read, write and speak English. </li>\n</ul>\n<strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong>\n<strong><u>Work Schedule</u></strong> (subject to change) \n<ul>\n <li>Hours – typical work hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday with a 1-hour lunch break.</li>\n <li>Possible to be on a 2nd shift 3:30pm to 12:30am Monday through Friday with a 1-hour lunch break.</li>\n <li>Periodic evening, weekend and holiday work will be required, subject to project scope and customer hours.</li>\n <li>Overtime – regular overtime should be expected, with occasional long weeks to meet production demands.</li>\n <li>Travel – occasional overnight trips away from home to attend industry conferences or visit customers.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER | DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE</strong></p>\n<p>Shermco is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
