Job Summary
The Site Autonomy Manager’s primary role is to oversee and support the operational fleet in their respective site location and provide multi-site support as needed. In addition to hands-on technical responsibilities, the SAM will be responsible for training new SAEs, interviewing SAE candidates, escalating critical issues to senior management, and providing on-site support across multiple locations when required. This role combines technical expertise with leadership and cross-functional collaboration to ensure operational success and safety.
Essential Responsibilities
Coordinates and implements vehicle upfits to support fleet upgrades and initiatives
Debugs electrical and mechanical issues on the vehicles
Executes on-site sensor calibrations
Executes on-site testing of feature improvements
Performs preventative maintenance on May vehicles
Records issues found and resolutions, escalating in proper channels as necessary
Assists in testing the autonomous operation of the vehicle to ensure it follows May’s standards for safety and rider comfort
Implements hardware changes in the field, ensuring safe operation for return to service
Communicates issues and successes to the engineering team, and drives resolution
Perform data acquisition by utilizing vehicle sensor suite
Coordinates and develops the on-site configuration and deployment of autonomous technology in designated locations
Build and maintain local May Mobility mapping assets
Assist in fleet cleanliness and demo readiness
Training and Mentorship:
Lead the onboarding and training process for new Site Autonomy Engineers (SAEs), ensuring they acquire the necessary technical and operational skills.
Develop and maintain training materials and programs in collaboration with the Learning & Development team.
Act as a mentor to SAEs, supporting their professional growth and development.
Multi-Site Support:
Provide technical and operational support to multiple site locations as needed.
Assist in ensuring consistent operations and best practices across all locations.
Act as the point of contact for multi-site coordination and deployment needs.
Issue Escalation:
Monitor and address operational challenges, escalating critical issues to senior management in a timely and organized manner.
Provide detailed reports on escalated issues, including resolution steps and potential preventative measures.
Travel and On-Site Support:
Travel to various site locations to provide hands-on technical support and leadership.
Act as an on-site representative for major launches, upgrades, and critical operational needs.
Leadership and Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and senior leadership, to improve processes and resolve complex issues.
Support the development and implementation of fleet-wide initiatives.
Interviewing SAE Candidates:
Participate in the recruitment process for new SAE candidates.
Conduct technical and behavioral interviews to evaluate candidate qualifications.
Provide feedback to the hiring team, contributing to hiring decisions and team composition.

Qualifications and Experience
Candidates most successful in this role typically hold the following qualifications or comparable knowledge or experience:
Required
3 years of working experience
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects across locations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to train and lead teams.
Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site operational environment.
Experience conducting technical interviews and evaluating candidates.
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time for site support.
Desirable
1 year of experience in the SAE role
Demonstrated success in training and mentoring technical teams.
Experience in escalation processes and communicating with senior management.
Familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
Physical Requirements
Standard office working conditions which includes but is not limited to:
Prolonged sitting
