Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a <strong>Software Engineer</strong> in <strong>Chantilly, Virginia</strong>.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The Developer will be part of a team of developers and cloud engineers that create new features for legacy applications as sponsor’s mission continues to expand and evolve.  Our team also builds new applications as new mission needs arise.  The Developer works closely with product owners, business analysts, and other teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.  The Developer will analyze and decompose complex software systems and create designs for scalability, testability, and performance.  Our work rhythm revolves around the Scrum agile framework to deliver incremental enhancements on a 3-week cycle.  Developers actively participate in planning deliverables and grooming the Jira backlog.  We rely on team collaboration to continually fine tune performance and ensure clear communication.  Developers also participate in a team rotation of O&M responsibilities.  They are required to be on-call for after-hours support approximately one week every three months. </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:   </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Experience creating applications with Java, Springboot, and Amazon Web Services for backend components, focusing on low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience working closely with product owners, business analysts, and other teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience analyzing and decomposing complex software systems and creating designs for scalability, testability, and performance</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience writing custom scripts to install and configure code in EC2 instances</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience using Git, Jenkins, and Rundeck</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience using CloudFormation scripts</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience creating RESTful API</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience working on a team that used the Scrum agile framework</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience manipulating data using XML, JSON and YAML formats</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Certification - Amazon Web Services (AWS)</li>\n <li>Experience delivering containerized applications with services similar to Docker and Kubernetes</li>\n <li>Experience creating applications/services using Python</li>\n <li>Experience with Elasticsearch and/or Kibana</li>\n <li>Experience creating applications that rely on tokenization</li>\n <li>Experience writing custom scripts to install and configure code in EC2 instances</li>\n <li>Understanding of Identity Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust concepts</li>\n <li>Understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts such as prompt engineering and large language models (LLM)</li>\n <li>Experience building microservices</li>\n <li>Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Katalon Studio or Selenium</li>\n <li>Experience building solutions designed to continue operation even if one AWS region is unavailable </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>What you can expect from us</h2>\n<p><em>BCore is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
