They are used in consumer goods in paper and packaging, food and pharmaceuticals, household and personal care, pet care, automotives, and many more, as well as in industrial settings like steelmaking, metalcasting, construction, infrastructure, and wastewater remediation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol MTX, headquartered in New York City, and have over 150 locations worldwide, with ~4,000 employees in 34 countries and 12 R&D centers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>We put people at the center of everything we do -- working safely, communicating openly, and managing our resources and businesses responsibly.</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position: </strong>Maintenance Technician</p>\n<p><strong>Location: </strong>Lethbridge, Alberta</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position will be an afternoon shift.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Primary Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Follows job instruction to meet all established standards for labour, material utilization and product quality.</li>\n <li>Ensure equipment runs at expected speed with minimal down time</li>\n <li>Maintain reliability of bulk handling packaging lines</li>\n <li>Maintain a Preventative Maintenance program</li>\n <li>Troubleshoot</li>\n <li>Continuous improvement through root cause elimination</li>\n <li>Small capital projects</li>\n <li>Acts in a leading role for facility improvements and facility maintenance</li>\n <li>Train operators on operation and maintenance of equipment</li>\n <li>Actively involved with new product development that may impact the manufacturing and packaging process</li>\n <li>Interface with vendors on the possible purchase of equipment and facility needs</li>\n <li>Maintain proper documentation for the dust collector system</li>\n <li>Works with Line-Lead person on insuring weight scales are consistently providing proper data</li>\n <li>Responsible for proper mixture of scent chemicals and additives</li>\n <li>Maintain an active spare parts list</li>\n <li>Follows and actively promotes safe work, good housekeeping and hygiene practices within the context of current or future legislation and safety program</li>\n <li>Attends all group safety talks and alerts the Company of any safety hazard or housekeeping hygiene concerns</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>OE/Lean</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Acts as resource and champion for department continuous improvement activities</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>The requirements listed in the sections that follow are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform the duties of this job.
